Oak stood up and left the room.

He was talking to people I recognized.

I felt gross.

I knew who they were.

The cast of The Great Comet.

No big deal.

Yes big deal.

But it felt like a crime to go out there.

When I could have possibly killed their costar's wife.

So I stay seated, staring at the wall.

Oak peeks his head in.

"Hey Charlotte?"

I look at him.

"Someone wants to talk to you."

He raised his eyebrows.

I looked over at Darren.

He shrugged.

I trudged to the door and opened it.

I looked at Oak.

He pointed behind me, turning to talk to Josh Groban.

I spun on my heels.

My breath knocked out of my lungs.

"H-Hey, Charlotte. I'm really sorry a-about A-Addie. It's going t-to be okay though."

He stuttered quickly.

I shook my head.

"W-What? Am I interrupting? I can c-come back later if y-"

I shook my head, waving my hands in his face.

"N-No! I'm just kinda baffled by the fact that Ben Platt is concerned about me and my friend."

He smiled, handing me the little flowers in his hand.

I smiled genuinely.

"W-Well I'll see you around. I h-have a show in a bit. Sorry."

I swipe at the air with my hand.

"It's alright. Thank you...so much for stopping by. It means a lot."

He nodded, smiling and walking away.

I scoffed and returned to the room.

"Who was it?"

Darren asked, curiously as I filled a bottle with water and put the flowers in them.

"Nobody. Just Ben Platt."

He smirked.

"Did you fangirl?"

I rolled my eyes.

"Darren, you're my husband you should know...of course I did. Terrible situation or not."

He rolled his eyes.

"Such a dork."

I nodded, my smile slowly fading as I sat back down and was dragged down by the mood in the air.

"And a fucked up dork at that."

I mumble.
