42 - Interviews & Holding Onto Memories With Him

“Would you like to come to the interview, Kaylie?” Louise asked. “You will sit with me backstage.” She smiled warmly at me and motioned for me to walk with her behind the whining babies that did not want to go to an interview.

“Um…sure. Can I?” I inquired as I hesitantly walked behind her.

“Of course, Tom is coming on his way. He is going to stay with Lux,” she explained.

“Oh, well then of course, count me in,” I agreed, happy to be able to presence an interview. That was something I had never done before and since this summer was full of firsts for me, that was something I might as well scratch of my list of things to do before I die.

“Okay, let’s go. I have to get the guys ready along with Caroline,” Louise said as she sped up. I failed to catch up with her, panting by the time we reached the elevators.

“Okay,” I breathed out as I rested my body’s weight against the elevator’s wall, feeling alright then.

“This is their last interview before they leave, you know,” Louise mused.

“Is it? Ugh, it is so sad to think about them leaving,” I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest.

“Specially an Irish one, right?” Louise mocked, smiling smugly at me.

I felt my cheeks burn red. “Maybe…” I mumbled, looking away from her.

She chuckled and said, “You lads look so cute together.”

“We do?” I questioned as I smiled. Then my gaze shifted towards the floor. I started to do some evaluation of the scene. “I cannot even believe Niall Horan likes me.”

“Well, for the rest of the world he is Niall Horan, for you he is your Niall, you know the real him. And you are a great girl, why would he not like you?”

I smiled and looked down to the floor, feeling my cheeks burn at the compliment. Louise was so great, no doubt she was an excellent mother, even to children that were not her own. But my self-esteem really appreciated the much needed boost up. “What are the guys going to do after today?” I shook off the other thoughts that wandered through my mind, deciding they were of no sure at the moment.

All I cared about now were my friends, who were leaving soon and with whom I needed to be with as much as possible. Maybe, just maybe I could hang out with them some time more. That would be perfect.

“The last couple of days are free, for them to rest and go out and visit New Jersey.”

I nodded. “Oh, nice.”

Then, Louise nodded and replied with a simple, “Yeah.”

“Are you going out as well?” I asked as we walked down the hallway behind the boys.

Niall was walking a bit ahead, but he turned around and when his eyes landed on me, he smiled, making me feel butterflies –which acted pretty crazy and as if they were high- inside of me. I smiled back, then looking down as I bit on the inside of my cheek to stop the smile from coming to my lips. But it came through anyway, making Louise notice me and smile, knowing exactly what I was smiling about.

“Yes, family mini trips.” She grinned, her family was lovely and I had a small hunch that she knew it.

“Nice.”

She remained silent, as if she was thinking about something and then she looked at me with bright eyes. “You should come. I will let you know where we will be going.”
