28 - Water Park Day!

The rest of the day was absolutely perfect –not that it is a surprise when you are next to the Atkins’ family. We went to the water park –Six Flags, how awesome is that?! I had already been there, of course. I live here and a water park did not go unnoticed by Laura and me. Actually Six Flags was one of the most famous and popular attractions New Jersey had.

But going with the Atkins was a totally different experience, so refreshing. Being with them gave me a new insight on what fun was and we had the most amazing day there.

And let me tell you I had the best of lucks I had ever had so far, there were so many sexy guys with ridiculously prefect and symmetrical body structures in speedos! I felt like I was finally in the doors of heaven. All my doubts, problems and insecurities faded away with such a harmonious environment.

Lux looked absolutely lovely in her pink swimsuit and orange floaters up on her chubby arms. I could not help but stare at her happily every now and then. She was such a sweet baby and I had grown so fond of her. It was unbelievable that I had been lucky enough as to meet her and her incredible family. I could not be any more grateful; I had reached the limit of gratefulness and even surpassed it. I could actually get a ticket for surpassing it.

“Time for a family picture!” Louise announced enthusiastically after several hours of fun. We were currently sitting on a blue painted metal table that had a huge umbrella on top of it protecting us from the sun. We were all done with our gelatos and we were all craving for more. But, apparently, first we were going to take a picture.

“Let’s get someone to take it for us,” Tom said while standing up as Louise grabbed Lux into her arms.

I frowned, standing up as well and reaching out to grab his arm. “Wait, why? I can take the picture,” I told him, confused as to why he was going to search for someone else. Did he think I was bad at taking pictures?

“No, we want a picture of the whole family,” Louise interjected, stressing the word whole and handing me Lux. I grabbed Lux and frowned even further, trying to understand what she meant. Lux planted a kiss on my cheek as Tom smiled warmly at me and then is when I realized what they meant.

“I am part of your family?” I asked in a croaked voice, trying really hard not to sob right there like a freak because there was a cute guy on the table next to me. But I could not help to feel surprised. Hearing I was part of their family was…unexpected.

I knew they cared about me, I thought probably not as much as I did about them, but they did. But having them telling me I was part of their family made me wonder if they indeed cared about me as much as I cared about them.

But you have no idea how amazing it was to hear it, it was like the most melodious music notes to my fragile ears. I did not even expect them to say anything across those lines. I could not even fully believe they had invited me to this yet. There was so much to grasp, it had been a while since I first met them. Time was flying by and my feelings for them were growing quickly.

The memory of when I handed Lux to Louise that first day when she had lost her baby girl came to my mind as a sweet flashback. As my mind finished processing what they had said and what I had gone through with them, my heart blossomed with delight and the most sincere and truthful feeling of happiness invaded me.

The Atkins’ were the best family I would ever meet, hands down. This was a once in a lifetime thing, I knew that very well. And I was so happy to have been lucky enough to win this jackpot. Life had truly smiled to me.

“Duh!” Louise replied cheekily with a Cheshire’s cat grin and that amazingly cool, rocker, funky style of hers.

I felt so happy right now, everything felt good. Nothing could ruin this moment for me. I was part of the Atkins’ family. Nothing could get better. Except that cute guy over there sending me a wink or something, just saying, you know.
