22 - I Like You. You Like Me. What Next?
Kaylie’s P.O.V.
We walked to the market. Niall walked by my side and it was great to finally be at ease when around them. I knew they hated to be treated differently, and now that Louis had done that to me, I was going to bring him down. How? I have no idea, I suck at revenge. But I was not letting this go.
It was funny, to be able to have fun with them instead of hyperventilating every time they were around.
Niall and I kept on walking and laughing about the prank. “I can’t believe you did that to me Niall! You are awful!” I screeched and gave him a pointed glare.
“Sorry, I had to. You are the most gullible person I have ever met. It was the perfect scenario and opportunity,” he explained.
I glared daggers at him and crossed my arms over my chest. “No, you did not!” I rebutted.
He burst out laughing once again. “Sorry princess.” I stopped walking, heck, I stopped breathing when I heard him call me like that. I had never been called princess –oh shocker-, and it coming from him was unbelievable. It had completely caught me off guard. I knew he only said that for the sake of saying it, but for me it had a completely different and amazing meaning. “Are you okay?” he questioned as he walked back to me once he realized I was no longer next to him.
I blinked and came back to earth from dreamland. “Uh, what? Oh… yeah,” I stuttered, feeling embarrassed for zoning off. But I did, and quite often as well. It was not something I could control, and less when I had any of them around me. They got me all hormonal and weird. And when he called me princess, it was recipe for disaster. Maybe I should tell him not to do that ever again.
But thinking it through…I will be selfish, I love how it sounds when he calls me like that.
“Okay,” Niall chirped dismissively while smiling and started shoving me playfully.
I gaped at him and shoved him. “Hey! First you prank me and then you push me?” I questioned with raised eyebrows and a playful grin as I shoved him once again and got him off balance.
“I did not push you, Kaylie!” he defended as he regained his balance and laughed and I narrowed my eyes at him.
“Sure, you didn’t.”
“I’m serious. It was an accident. Actually, you owe me two shoves because you did it intentionally,” he ranted and I smiled at his cuteness and silliness.
We got into the market just as I was about to reply. The stands full of food distracted us both a while. I felt my mouth water at the sight and suddenly I wanted to have some ice cream, a piece of pizza, a slice of cake, some chips and snacks, everything. It was funny, Louise told me not to bring Lux in here because she would want everything, but I was no better than her, at all.
Then, after I got out of my daze, I snapped back to our conversation. “It was not an accident Niall, you get serious,” I rebutted with a playful and defiant grin.
“No, I-”He started to debate, but he was cut off by a high pitched screech.
“Oh my god, Niall Horan!! Ah! I must be dreaming or something! Jesus! It is really you! In flesh and bones!”
The screeching came from behind. I instinctively tugged my arm in between Niall’s. He held me closer to him. I could almost feel my ears bleeding due to how sharp that scream had been at the end and I winced in pain as the squealing went on. I turned to see him and he was flinching as he looked back at me confused.
