RJ is very protective of Menggay. They are long-time neighbors in the village.
He is three-years-old when she is born. He thinks she is the strangest baby in the world. Her thighs look like chicken wings so he pinches them. She wails and he gets very scared. RJ promises he will never make her cry ever again.
As they grow up, RJ takes care of Menggay as he would a little sister. He makes sure she doesn't get bruised or hurt. He watches out for her well-being and guards her from the taunts of other children.
RJ forgets just one important thing. He forgets to protect himself...from her.
