As the black and white striped character passes by, her group mate Ricky sticks out a leg.
The burglar falls and Maine helps him to his feet.
To her surprise, the mascot kneels down in front of her and motions the store assistant to lift his head.
The stench of a thousand children's parties oozes out, but Menggay doesn't mind.
Because inside the costume, drenched in sweat, is a beaming, bedimpled boy.
