Menggay's artist friends surprise her with a despedida de soltera. They book a room for the party at a boutique hotel in Makati.
She receives heartfelt gifts: a small sculpture of her and RJ's entwined hands and a Hamburglar vinyl toy - but with RJ's face on it.
There are also lacy presents and an illustrated reinterpretation of the ancient Hindu text on love positions.
Her sisters are in on the surprise and they send over a bubble-wrapped package. She opens the blue Swarovski box. It's a crystal Daisy Duck.
Along with it, is a photo of her and RJ doubling over in pain while lying down on their hospital beds. The back reads,
"To Daisy Yuck, who lost and found her forever Donald. It's bibi time."
A/N The reference to Donald and Daisy Yuck may be a long way back. It's in an earlier chapter titled "Two Onions."
