Bastian is out of breath. He hides behind a tree when a lastiko whizzes and hits his cheek.
He looks for the perpetrator and sees three-year-old RL grinning.
"Lagsa ko!" the naughtiest of the triplets say.
Bastian runs after him as bespectacled RH sprinkles holen on the street. Tian slips and lands on his bottom.
He gives out a loud sigh, closes his eyes and lies down. Babysitting the triplets is not easy while Manong RJ and Manang Menggay are on their belated honeymoon.
RL and RH pry open his eyelids to check if he is okay.
A glass of ice-cold water is shoved in front of him by RN, the chubbiest of the three.
He gulps down the entire drink but spews out the last mouthful. There's a wriggly worm at the bottom of the glass.
The three Rs bounce up and down in victory.
They transform into innocent cherubs when Lolo Tatay approaches them.
With hands on his hips, Lolo Tatay asks,
"Richard Liam, Richard Harry kag Richard Niall, ano'ng ginahimo niyo kay Manong Bastian?"
