It's a week after RJ's graduation. The couple is in Bacolod to break the news to Menggay's family.
The setting is at the living room. The mood is tense. The sound is silence, except for the grunts of the irate ten-year-old Bastian at the corner.
Tatay stares at RJ a full thirty seconds. Manang Colette and Manang Coleen wait with bated breath.
RJ sweats bullets. Menggay bites her thumb. They hold hands.
Tatay's eyes dart from RJ's face, down to their linked hands, to Menggay's face and back to RJ's again.
"Barong o suit?"
They sigh collectively.
"Thank you Tito," RJ wipes his forehead.
"Pero pagkatapos na mag graduate ni Menggay ha."
