Menggay flops on her bed and ponders her Tatay's questions.
She looks at the framed picture on her night table. She is around 10 months old and her mother carries her. Her Nanay's head is thrown back in laughter. Her Tatay clicks just as Menggay flashes a wide, toothless smile.
She lifts her favorite scrapbook from the table and flips through the pages of her childhood pictures. She is always with RJ up to the chapter where he takes her to the ramen restaurant.
The next pictures are the ones he sends from university. He is alone.
Menggay shuts the scrapbook and bolts from the bed. She runs out of her bedroom and searches for her Tatay.
