RJ panics for a moment when the church door closes.
He cranes his neck and searches for her behind their marching godparents. But the nave is empty when they settle on their pews.
He looks up the ceiling and closes his eyes in quiet prayer.
The door creaks open. A soft breeze enters.
He lowers his gaze and sees her veil billow in the wind.
And then he sees her.
The choir's hymn begins as she takes her father's arm.
The church is decked in shades of sunshine colors. And their guests have donned their best. But RJ might as well be blind.
His eyes are on Menggay, and only on her.
His vision blurs and he realizes that he is crying. He searches his pocket for a hanky but there is none.
Bastian rushes and hands him one.
He wipes his tears and thanks the boy.
RJ closes the distance to his bride.
Tatay turns to Menggay and embraces her. He shakes RJ's hand and leads his daughter to him.
They look at each other. She giggles. He chuckles.
"Ready ka na?" He asks.
"Sang una pa." She answers.
They take a deep breath and move towards the altar.
The priest takes his cue.
"Dearly Beloved..."
A/N "Sang una pa" is "Dati pa."
