Tatay talks to RJ alone.
He tells the younger man that he is happy. Menggay's first words to him when they arrived was "I love you, Tatay."
He asks RJ about his new job. He observes the young man as he talks about it, seeing the gleam of excitement in his eyes and the controlled anticipation in his voice.
He asks how long it will take before he is assigned abroad. In around six months or a year. Way before Menggay graduates.
He reiterates that Menggay has to graduate before they can marry.
He senses RJ's hesitation.
He changes the topic. He tells RJ that he fully trusts that Menggay would be happy and safe with him.
He raises an eyebrow and purses his lips.
"RJ, indi masyado seryoso ha."
RJ gets it and his ears turn red.
RJ remembers that fateful afternoon in Molave's Open House, when Menggays roommate was away...
And that time in the acoustic concert...
And that time in the movie house...
And that time in the unused restroom of the National Museum...
And that time they went out of town...
And just this morning, when they take the first flight out, and proceed to the hotel RJ booked, just before they go to Menggay's childhood home.
A/N "RJ, indi masyado seryoso ha." translates to "RJ, huwag masyadong seryoso ha."
