Liam POV

"Damn, feels weird to be back," Niall huffed as he jumped out the van. I looked around the venue, glad that management made sure to keep us enrolled until next month.

Everyone was inside,  and once all of us came out in our tuxs', a few gazes caught us, and it went a little less noisier than before.

I looked around, searching for the person I desperately needed right now.

I walked in first, the stares from friends of people seeming surprised rather than unwelcoming. Then everyone began to crowd us, asking us questions, trying to play it off as if they  knew us for forever. None of them knew me, except one person.. And I don't seem to find her anywhere.

I searched the room, before I found a specific wide-hazel eyed glare. Essie.

I pushed through the girls that tried to talk to me, getting an odd laugh from Aiden before I waved him off and walked to Essie.

Her eyes flickered from me, and then behind me. I followed her gaze.. Oh, Niall. Yeah, they never really said goodbye did they.. As much as I cared to help them right now.. I needed her help.

"Kelsey," I breathed, a tint of questioning and confusion in my tone as she looked around. Her glare was intense, her emotions not knowing what to feel, I suppose, because she rose her hand to my slap me or something, before she put it down with a sigh.

She led me to the balcony, where the sunset was already going down past the horizon. Around an hour left until dawn... I looked at Essie, anxious.

"She's heartbroken, Liam. She's been waiting for you like a lost puppy," Essie murmured, looking out into the beach side. I opened my mouth to speak, before she froze, searching the sand before she rose an eyebrow. She sighed heavily, her face seeming troubled.

"What? Essie? Where's Kelsey?" I turned her body towards me, I turned to find Niall staring through the hall, his eyes on Essie, but she was looking at the sea. I followed her gaze, getting anxious.

"Ess-"

"She was just there, like twenty minutes ago. She was there. What the hell, Kels," she murmured to herself, pulling out her phone and putting it to her ear. She looked at me, her lips pursed. Seeming surprised as she scanned me.

"I can't believe you actually came," she whispered before she sighed, frustratingly looking back at her phone.

"What the fuck, Kels," her voice seemed worried now.. And I swear, I was ready to literally shake Essie to find out where she was.

"Essie!" I almost yelled in frustration. She looked up at me, her eyes afraid.

"Kelsey was pretty upset you weren't here... She.. She said she wanted to walk around the beach... but now.. Now I can't find her and she's not picking up her phone.

Her words made my heart stop. Fucking hell.... I have to find Kelsey.

I sprinted back to the front of the door, the other men loving the attention from the school. They gave me confused looks as I headed out front.

"Where are you going?" Niall followed. I turned back to find him walking behind me, before Essie caught up, and he froze.

"Essie.." he murmured. Essie just skidded past him, her eyes on me and around the front yard.

"Not now, Niall." she said nonchalantly. Niall's face furrowed into confusion, before he looked back at me. He rose an eyebrow at my frantic expression... and I could feel my breaths quicken with fear when I couldn't find one single person out front.

"Kelsey's missing," I huffed, looking at Essie who waved down the sidewalk.

"She went off this way and we can go check where she is.. but there are three different paths to go to into the beach.. and-"

"I'll help you guys..." Niall blurted, taking a look at Essie, who looked at him for a second, before she blushed and looked away, trying to keep a serious face...

Why couldn't I be standing in front of my own love right now?

"Then let's go, hurry. It's going to get dark... and I really need my Kelsey," I felt my voice crack. They agreed, and we all headed out.

*******

"Kelsey!" we all yelled, before Niall headed onto the first path, and then Essie and I discussed how she was... until she rushed into the second one, saying that she was going to check  the same place again just in case she had came back...

It was then that my mind ran with a million thoughts, and I couldn't help but sprint to the final one.

"Kelsey!" I yelled, my voice sounding desperate and afraid... Because I was.. I just wanted her in my arms again.

I frantically looked around as I headed down the path, looking for the sand to arrive...

I looked both ways, my patience dying off...

"Kels-" I was cut off mid sentence when I looked up down the sand, the horizon of the sun setting slowly...

and the silouette of a thin figure in a white dress sat on a log, her black hair longer than before, messily blown in the wind as her back was arched over her knees...

"Kelsey?" I couldn't even raise my voice... I would sprint and walk.. then sprint.. then walk.. too shocked to hope that I wasn't hallucinating...

But then Kelsey stood up, her physique smaller than before... her dress making her look so lovely, blowing beautifully... My Kelsey?

Before she suddenly bent down to grab a rock, and she threw it down across the sea.. and her painful yells of anger sent my eyebrows furrowing..

She continued to throw rocks... and it was then... when she yelled my name... I knew what Essie meant.

My best friend, my love... my girl..

I was looking at my girl... at my heartbroken Kelsey..

The girl that I loved...that I unintentionally have been hurting so much.

That is hurting so much right now

because of me.
