LIAM POV
I sat there silently in the dining room, my clothes from yesterday horridly wrinkled, my hands folded on my lap, as Mrs.Diamonds just stood there, looking at me.
"How've you been, Liam?" she asked nonchalantly, not once letting her gaze of me.
I gulped. What am I suppose to say?
I'm feeling great, especially since you've just caught your daughter and I in bed...
"I've been well, thank you, Mrs.Diamonds. How about yourself?" I replied. She rose an eyebrow.
"I was doing good...until just a few minutes ago," her voice darkened. I nodded understandingly, looking down at my hands.
"I thought you two were bumping heads not so long ago," she nodded her head towards me, her eyes furrowed in anger.
" I mean, you already disappointed me when you left Kel-" she paused, seeming to remember something.
"When you two began to bully each other over something so ridiculous. Then suddenly you guys are doing this? Are you trying to be a bad boy or something? Is this some kinda' game to you now, Liam?." she scoffed. I threw my head up abruptly.
"Oh god no.. Mrs. Diamonds. I would never do that to Kelsey,ma'am," I was about to stand up, before Mrs.Diamonds pursed her lips.
"Good," she said assertively, shifting her weight to one leg. I laid back on the chair. She glared at me, a small smile held down on her lips... So awkward.
Out of all the seriousness of what just happened earlier, I had the urge to just laugh so loudly.
I mean, I'm massively intimidated by what Mrs.Diamonds was going to do... but at the same time, I couldn't stop replaying in my head, her reaction when she saw that it was me hiding behind the mattress.
It was so incredibly awkward earlier to stand right in front of your girlfriend's mother, nude... but I guess the embarrassment and awkwardness wasn't quite over yet.
And right now, it's just became even more awkward and tense once Kelsey walked into the kitchen.
I looked up at her, the blue in her eyes warm and bright, her hair up in a bun. She gazed back at me, holding back a smile. I was so grateful to see that smile, because that's all I wanted to see, especially after that nightmare.
I let my lips reach up into a slight grin as I just took in the fact that my best friend was mine. All mine. And that's how I wanted to it to stay.
She sat down on the other side of the table, her smile disappearing as she looked up at her mother. There was a good minute of silence, of tense awkward silence.
"So, what are you waiting for. Explain." Mrs.Diamonds growled. I froze, a bit taken back.. Explain what? What we... did?
I could feel my face redden. I watched Mrs.Diamonds flicker her eyes between us, before it looked like she mentally face-palmed herself.
"Liam. Kelsey, I'm not going to kill you guys... unfortunately. That's illegal," she deadpanned.
Man, that's definitely where Kelsey got her personality from.. It's hard to take her seriously when she's throwing out these humorous statements...
She sighed, letting her shoulders slump.
"Yeah, I'm freaking angry.. but.. but you're both seventeen already, almost eighteen. I'm sure you're both old enough to make your own decisions, I understand that," she breathed, and I rose an eyebrow... memories flashing back to when we were kids...
