KELS POV
"You can come in now, mom," I called as I tied the hospital gown around my waist.
The last time I did this, it caused me to be where I was today, nearly dead.
And I wasn't going to lie now.
I was afraid.
My mom walked in, her hair in a messy bun, her eyes with bags... she looked at me from head to toe, a usual look for me since I've been in the hospital so often.
It had become a second home for me.
Her eyes watered and she smiled, embracing me in a tight hug.
"I'm so proud of you," she kissed my forehead, and I breathed in, not wanting to cry.
"Is Daniel here yet?" I looked up, and my mom nodded.
"He got here around an hour ago.Want me to bring him in? He's been dying to see you already," she hummed, her long dark hair curtaining my view as she set her chin on my head.
I nodded and she released me, giving my another peck before turning to walk out.
I slowly made my way to the bed, and looked up at the ceiling...holding in these emotions.
All I wished was for Liam to get here sooner.
"Hello," a voice called, and I looked up impatiently, til I noticed it was a nurse. I smiled and he nodded, entering with things in his hands.
"I'm just here to put in your IV, it'll be quick," he reassured as he set the things down, and just as he said, quickly asking for my hand to sterilize the place where the needle would go in.
"Take your time," I grinned, taking an uneasy breath as I gazed at the door.
If he was adding IV, that meant I had around an hour until the procedure.
"Nervous?" he asked, and I nodded. He only asked to distract me because once that needle went in, a cold feeling made me feel slightly uncomfortable. It wore off quickly.
"Don't be, little lady. As long as you've got faith, that's all that matters," he said as he taped down the IV and got up.
"Thanks," I murmured as he grabbed his stuff, and headed out.
"Hope you're enjoying California so far!" he waved as he left, before Daniel peaked his head thru the door, a soft look as he turned to look at me.
I giggled and waved for him to enter.
He followed in and sat beside me, bending down to kiss my forehead.
"Finally," he sighed as he sat down. I rolled my eyes.
"Thanks for the support, " I said sarcastically with a laugh. He chuckled, before he nudged my shoulder
"You know I'm only messing with you Kels. I love you, you know that!" he smiled.
I looked at him, his words sincere. Just the thought of never seeing him again if I don't wake up hurt me a bit, and I felt my lip tremble.
He realized what I was doing, and rose his eyebrows, his gaze intense as he rose his finger.
"Hey. Stop it, Kels. Don't think stupidity," he scowled as he quickly bent forward to wipe I tear, before wiping it on his shirt.
"Ew, your liquids," he made a face, and I couldn't help but smile.
"You're dumb," I sniffled, and he winked.
"And youre dumber. See, we're a team," we both chuckled.
