Kelsey POV
It was hard to believe he was here... the way his brown eyes glared at mine... I knew he loved me... and that's all I needed to know right now.
That he loved me.
His expression when I told him.. it broke me to pieces. The way his face turned pale, and his eyes spilled more tears on his frozen face.
I didn't know what to expect from him now.
He slowly drifted off the bed, and for some reason, I expected him to run away.. but.. but instead, he moved closer to me, grabbing my face between his large hands that felt so warm. His reddened face closening to me.. where I could feel his breath against my skin.
"Kelsey.. I.. I have money now.. I'm going to get you that kidney, okay? I'm going to do whatever it takes to make you better, Kels," he began as he traced kisses against my forehead down to my nose, his tears smearing onto my cheeks.
His desperate tone broke my heart.
"Liam, you.. you don't have to do that," I sighed deeply.. the action so difficult...but as I closed my eyes, his soft lips tracing up my jawline.. his love was helping me fill my broken heart. My barely beating one.
The heart I knew had no hope to get better anymore.. so why even try?
"Kelsey, yes I do. I-I can't lose my bestfriend.... I can't.. just.." he was caught without words, his face so filled with pain at his own thoughts.
" Just imagine? Just.. just imagine to know that the person you never stopped... thinking about..that you never stopped caring for and loved so much was-" he frowned in agony as he looked up at the ceiling.
"Was gone.. because of you?" he coughed up more tears at the thought. I gulped, the mere realization of what he was trying to say.. upset me.
"Liam," I spoke louder now. He didnt look up at me.. I sat up more erectly, using quite a lot of strength to do so, and I guess that caught his frantic attention.
I grabbed his gaze intently, so directly showing him that he was wrong. I took off the mask again..trying to control my breathing as Liam watched painfully.
"Don't. .. Don't you ever think this was your fault. I did this because I wanted to," I pointed at myself as I scowled, my voice breaking, the knot in my throat as Liam shook his head.
"I can't, Kels. I just can't, " he then moved closer to me again, before he sent his lips on mine, so much emotion and care.. it showed me how much he loved, how much he needed me.
This kiss was so beautiful, it was just what I needed.. but I was so confused on whethet I should be doing this. It's going to break him.. even more...
I pulled away and Liam let out a sigh, sending his forehead against mine as he reached my for hand.. entangling it in his. I closed my eyes...I just.. can't.
"Liam, I just dont want you to-"
"Marry me," his broken voice fell over mine.
I was not expecting that.
I opened my eyes again.
"M-Marry you?" I asked again, unsure of whether or not I was hallucinating and hearing things.
"Kelsey, I love you...and I just.. I need you," his eyes looked straight into mine, inches away... so fiercely...
"I..I," I stuttered...confusion setting in.
"What?" I asked again. Liam pulled away a bit, a small smile on his face, though his eyes still teared up.
"Kelsey Diamonds, will you marry me?" he said a little playfully, though I'm pretty sure he was serious.
I thought about it for a second.. and how Liam and I... how we've grown so much. . Just how our relationship seemed to be the clarity of our hearts.. How we've come to love eachother after such a façade of hate...
How we ended up sitting where we are today..is..bewildering.
As he waited, I looked down, smiling at the thought of us again.
I looked up watching his brown eyes blink through his eyelashes. He was so beautiful...and I do know why I don't regret anything I've done.
Because I loved Liam so much.
I shook my head softly, squeezing his hand as I pulled him closer. His smile falling a bit before I sent my lips onto his once again.
I pulled away, and Liam looked at me in disapointment. He knew me so well.
"No," I sighed.
