Liam POV
She stopped in front of my house, just looking at it. I had calmed down a bit with the drive, but I couldn't stop thinking about Kelsey's words..
"So, you ready for the tournament? " she asked as she turned off the engine. She felt awkward, I know it. I took off my seat belt, and looked at her.
"Who told you I was there?" I hiccuped, taking a sigh. Ignoring her question.
"Well, Kelsey called me like 15 minutes ago. Told me Niall was at the hospital and to pick you up because she didn't want you walking in the rain," Amanda sounded annoyed as she explained. I shook my head, leaning into fetal position on the seat, not wanting to feel as much guilt as I felt now.
I didn't deserve such a friend like her. Yet here I was, crying like a little bitch when I should be the man that I am, and be there for her.
"Is Niall okay? Can you please tell me why your crying?" Amanda leaned against the window, her hand on her temple. She looked annoyed. She's so rude.
"It wasn't Niall. It was Kelsey." I huffed, sitting up and opening the door, my decision was made.
"What? That little-"
"Save it, Amanda. Thanks for the ride," I jumped out and she sighed, turning on her engine and driving off. I waited until she turned the curve, the rain falling hard now.
I held my sweater tighter before I took a step back onto the sidewalk.
I'm going back to the hospital.

Kelsey POV
"I'm sorry, Kelsey," Niall wiped his tears as I laid back onto the hospital bed, the nurse cursing under her breath from my sudden actions as she fixed my wiring.
I deleted the message after I sent it, passing the phone back to Niall.
"It's fine. Don't worry about it.,"
I looked up and smiled warmly, before looking at Essie; her face looked like shit.
"And you look like shit," I murmured under my breath with a wink. She coughed a laugh as Niall wrapped his hand around her shoulder, pulling her close.
"Atleast I-I'm not the o-only one," She stuck her tongue out as I passed her the box of tissues by my bedside.
"Touché," I laughed, looking at Niall who huffed a laugh.
"S-So what did they t-tell you," She asked and I furrowed my eyebrows, looking up at the TV that was off. I can't lie anymore.
"Well, I seemed to have gotten so angry my blood pressure went over the roof and.. uh..I had a slight cranial aneurysm," I said as I switched it on, refusing to look at them.
"Wait, I thought only old people get those?" Niall blurted, and I smiled at his remark. Typical Niall.
"Well, no. It can happen to anyone, but the doctor said it was actually good that I had one, because now they can see the main problem with my kidney, " I sighed, Niall' s face angering as I flinched, the nurse adding another IV.
"I can't believe he walked out on you.. Who even told Amanda he was here?" Essie growled.
"Well, I did. I didn't want him walking in the rain," I admitted, sending my free hand to fiddle with my wires.
"Kelsey, I'm sorry, but I honestly just wanted to thank ya' for everything, since Liam's not going to do it. Seriously, you're freaking the most amazing person I've ever met. He doesn't deserve such a person like you. ," Niall looked at me and I smiled, so appreciative for his words.
"Thanks, but I think he deserves only the best. Deep down in that heart of his, I know he's happy, and that's all that matters, I guess," I tried to defend him. I thought about what I just said, and it was pretty obvious that I had some type of feelings for him.. because he's only been a complete asshole to me.
"No, Niall's right. I don't deserve you, " I threw my gaze to the door, Liam shivering, his brown eyes swollen and ready to cry again. He grimaced as I looked at him, agony on his face as I felt my eyes tear up.
"L-Liam," I breathed, and I felt Niall stand up defensively. Liam sent a sorry gaze to Niall, before he shivered in his drenched sweater and looked back at me.
"Can I come in? The hallways are pretty cold and-"
I shuffled out of my bed, my heart breaking at the sight. He could get pneumonia.
Yeah, finally for once I feel like I'm being myself.. Now that he knows, there's no need to hold back.. Plus, I don't want my last days to be wasted trying to hate someone I always cared about.
He looked bewildered as I stood and pulled his hand inside the room, sitting him down. He was freezing.
"Take off your sweater, you're freezing" I blurted, and Liam froze, looking up at me, a frown as his face reddened, guilt and pain in his brown eyes that welled with tears. He took it off.
I handed him the thin blanket that was folded on my hospital bed and wrapped it around him.
He never took his eyes off me the whole time, and for once, I felt awkward.
"Warm?" I asked him, pulling back and leaning against the bed. His grimace was difficult to understand as he stared at me with awe.
"Can I.." he huffed, his voice cracking. "Can I talk to you?" his caramel brown eyes gazed intensely at me, and I sighed, understanding his words.
I looked to the side, Niall's once cautious face changing into one of sympathy. Essie's eyes were glued to me, waiting for my response.
I nodded, and they shuffled through Liam, Niall patting his shouldet on the way out. I watched them leave the room, before turning back to him.
He was looking down at his hands that shivered, and I decided to get out of his personal space that I barely noticed I was in.
I slid myself onto the bed, looking up at the TV that played a child's cartoon.
The silence was deafening, until I heard Liam huff a cry, and I closed my eyes,
This is what I didn't ever want to see from Liam..
Crying..
because of me.
