Skye pov.
Jack and Mac were in the car first, in the front seats. I jumped in the back quickly and off we went. We were speeding down the road when it happened. None of us saw it coming. There was a large truck in front of us, another car came out of nowhere smashing into it causing the front of the large vehicle to spin towards us and go straight through the windshield. That was the last thing I remember...
Before my eyes fluttered open. Everything looked like it was in slow motion. Smoke was still rising around me and parts were still falling from the vehicle. It looked like I'd only blackout out for a few seconds. I looked to the front seat seeing both Mac and Jack out like a light. Jack's legs looked to be stuck from the impact of the crash and his head was leaned towards the door in an uncomfortable position.
Mac had cuts all over him, like Jack, but the most concerning was the one in his side. There was also a shard of glass in his shoulder and blood was seeping through that as well.
I looked up trying to comprehend what had just happened when I caught sight of him. He was the only one around. Dressed in all black from his head to foot. He grinned towards us and then began backing away. I panicked but eventually regained common sense. I reached forward grabbing Jack's gun from its holster which remained unharmed in the crash.
It took a bit more force to open the car door and when it did open I fell right out of the car and onto the hard pavement. I tried pushing myself up only to fall back to my knees. I raised my hand to my head finding a small gash across my left temple. If my head wasn't pounding enough from my hangover it sure was now.
I pushed that pain to the back of my mind for the moment and took off in the direction I saw the man running.
After what felt like a mile or more of running I saw him turn into the area between the first two buildings I'd seen since the crash.
I turned into the alley, immediately pulling the gun up in front of me, my arms straight out holding it firmly. The man stood there with a gun already held up with one hand pointed in my direction.
"Drop it!" I yelled at him but he didn't move, "Drop it or I'll drop you!"
This time he just laughed causing my eyebrows to ruffle and my skin to crawl.
"Tisk, Tisk, Skye," he raised his other hand and shook a finger at me with his gloved hand.
I lowered my arms a bit at that. That was impossible, I'd never seen this man before in my life. But no matter, I raised the gun back up, more determined than ever.
"How do you know my name?" I questioned in a demanding voice.
"Thats not the only thing I know dear," he grinned, "I sure hope Dalton and Macgyver are still alive, did you even stop to check before blindly running after me?"
I took a moment to think back. I never checked for a pulse on either of them. I did remember seeing the rise and fall of their chests but who's to say they haven't lost that ability since I left them.
"It would be a shame if they were to die this easily," he began laughing and once again my skin crawled, "I mean, what's the fun in that? Oh and do tell Matilda that she is very welcome for those heads up. After all, we all have the same job really; making the world a better place, right?"
This man was seriously creeping me out now. He was the one giving the Phoenix all the intel? He took a step back and I immediately stepped closer holding the gun a little tighter.
"You're not going anywhere!" I yelled at him, "Who are you?"
That awful grin made its way across his face again, "Tell Macgyver I said hello, assuming he's still alive..."
He held the gun up one last time, this time firing a shot. I felt the pain in my arm as the bullet just grazed the edge of it. I dropped my gun and fell to my knees clutching my arm. I quickly snapped my head back up to look at the man but he was gone. I had no idea where he could of gone or the direction he went in but I didn't have time to worry about that. I jumped up ignoring every ounce of pain in my body and sprinted back towards the crash sight.
Seeing it from this perspective made me stop dead in my tracks. I wasn't sure how I was able to crawl out of that so if Mac and Jack were still alive I would be amazed and beyond thankful. I took off again, this time running faster than I ever had before.
"Mac!" I screamed coming up to the vehicle, "Jack!"
The window on the driver's side was completely gone and I could see our radio sitting in between the two boys. So I reached in, over Jack, and grabbed it.
"Matty!" I yelled into the radio hitting the button on the side, "Matty! Can you hear me?"
Tears whelped up in my eyes and I screamed as I shook and smashed the walkie talkie on my hands. Finally a voice answered.
"Finally," Matty said, "where are you three? We lost your location here."
"There was an accident Matty," I tried controlling my tears but I was now sobbing, "Its bad."
I could here her breath get caught in her throat from the other end of the radio but she kept her cool about it. I told her where we were best I could and I could hear her yelling orders at emergency teams.
"Skye," she said directly to me now, "are you all ok?"
"Uh-" I breathed looking back at the other two, "I am but Mac and Jack they are- they're out cold and their stuck in the car still."
I could still see the rise and fall of both of their chests so that was reassuring.
"Is there anything else?" Matty asked.
I stepped closer to the car and noticed that they were still in the same shape that I'd left them in. Jack's legs were still stuck in between the seat and were the car had smashed in. But I did notice that Mac's wound was still bleeding considerably. I ran around the car to his side getting a better look at it.
"Um Mac's got a wound, a gash, in his right lower quadrant area," I said remembering some of the medical terms I had learned in my senior anatomy and physiology class. I pulled my shirt off of my body leaving me in only my bra and tank underneath. I then leaned in the car, through the opening where the window should of been but now there was just some shards sticking up that cut into my side as I leaned it, "its bleeding pretty bad but I'm doing all I can to-"
I paused for a moment. Gray smoke filled my lungs causing me to cough. I watched it and followed it to where it was coming from.
"Matty," I said on high alert now, "we have another problem...."
I breathed heavily my mind racing, "The car's gonna blow."
