Skye pov.

38 weeks. It was official, I was totally over the joyous part of being pregnant. The last few weeks I'd wake up every morning praying for this child to come right now. Most of those mornings Mac had been there for my constant complaining and loved me through it all. He wouldn't make me get out of bed now that I wasn't working at all and he'd place a soft kiss on my lips before making sure I had my phone charged with me and leaving for work.

This particular morning however, Matty had called them in early for a mission assignment. I woke up with pains in my stomach and a note on Mac's pillow.

Sorry had to head out early, mission alert. Phone's charged and on the nightstand. And don't forget I've got a landline too so no excuses for not calling me when you get up.

I love you,

Mac

I smiled at the note but immediately my heart began to sink. I was afraid of this, I was only glad Mac had not been around when it happened. My bladder just burst all in this freakin bed. Ugh, thats gross and embarrassing, even if it is just me here. I pulled the covers back and shot up quicker than I thought I could at this point. There wasn't much, only a few quarter size drops of blood on the sheets but it was enough to freak me out. And thats when I felt it, a trickle down my leg. It was an unpleasant feeling but that in combination with the pressure in my lower pelvic area told me everything I needed to know. Only problem was it was only me at home and Mac was who knows where in the middle of a mission right now.

My first contraction hit me hard but they were happening far enough apart where I wasn't too worried yet. I cleaned myself up and put some day clothes on. I grabbed my car keys and phone heading out the door. A calming sense came over me and those pregnancy classes Mac and I had been to were paying off now.

I stopped to breath with every pain I had and the moment they subsided I continued. Instead of doing what I was longing to do and calling Mac, I dialed the number of the woman who'd acted as a mother to me since I got here. An assistant answered the phone and I could hear as she spoke to Matty.

"Director Webber," She said, "You have a call on your personal line."

"Tell them I will call them back," Matty shouted at the girl.

"It's Agent Miller," the woman told her only pressing the mater slightly.

Thats when I heard Matty respond, "Put her through."

The line was transferred and Matty did not seemed pleased.

"This better be important, Skye," she huffed.

"Sorry," I said, "Am I interrupting something important?"

"Just stopping a major bank heist," Riley chimed in making me aware that she was in the room as well, "besides that, no not at all."

I could hear the sarcasm in her voice and it was unfortunately that moment that my next contraction came.

"...Skye," Matty said. I tried to control the rugged breathing and I covered the phone as I did so, "What's going on?"

"You know," I responded finally gaining control of my breathing again as the pain faded, "I just called to see if Mac was busy but clearly he is so-."

"Skye, whats going on?" Matty asked, that motherly tone as clear as day.

"You know," I turned the key in the ignition and began pulling down the driveway, "don't worry about it seriously. Just have Mac give me a call when he can. Thanks."
