Skye pov.
I woke up with a pounding headache. At first I wasn't sure I could even open my eyes but I soon realized that the room was dark, all the lights off, curtains closed and door shut. But it wasn't my room I was in. I was in Mac's bed at his house. I didn't remember getting here and I definitely didn't remember him coming over to my house in the first place.
I pulled myself out of the bed, keeping a soft blanket from it wrapped tightly around my body. I had on some of Mac's sweatpants and a t-shirt of his as well.
Opening the bedroom door forced me to take a step back as the new light hit my eyes. I squinted and soon proceeded forward. There was no one to be seen in the living room or kitchen so I found my way to the back deck. There sat Mac at the fire pit even though it was morning and there wasn't a fire going.
"Hi," I tiredly grinned at him walking towards him and taking a seat. I'm sure I was a sight to see. I hadn't even looked in a mirror so my hair was probably a mess and I just knew I must of looked pretty pitiful wrapped up in this blanket.
"Hey," he turned to me with a smile, "How ya feelin'?"
I huffed loudly and dropped my head down into my hands, my face soon buried in the blanket. I could hear Mac laughing but I didn't think it was all that funny.
"Yeah," he chuckled, "that's what I thought."
A thought soon occurred to me and no matter how much I wanted to avoid the conversation I knew it was going to have to happen.
"Hey Mac," I said raising my head.
"Yeah?" he looked over at me and I swear his eyes were shining when the sun hit them that way.
"I'm sorry," I sighed, "I don't remember what I did last night but I know that there is absolutely no telling... So for whatever I did, I'm sorry."
"Oh you only showed me your deepest darkest secrets, sang some bad karaoke with Jack and-"
"Jack was there!" My eyes widened thinking about not only Mac but Jack seeing me in the shape I was.
"No, no," he laughed with a large smile shaking his head, "none of that happened."
I rolled my eyes and nudged him with my elbow while he continued to laugh. But that soon died down and he became serious. He looked back at me with a face I didn't quite understand and adverted his eyes as soon as he did.
He reached in his pocket and looked at something he held in his hand that I couldn't quite see from where I sat. I tried leaning over to get a better look but as soon as I did he put it away and looked back up at me with a small grin.
"What is it?" I asked him with a fake smile of my own.
"Nothing," he reassured me, "Just uh- Promise me you won't do that again."
I felt ashamed for what I had done and the way I was sure I acted. I didn't usually do things like this but after we'd found those girls I was willing to do anything to forget about it. But I was now realizing that was beyond selfish of me. Mac and the rest of the team had probably seen things that gave them night terrors and here I was being the weak one of the group.
"I promise," I smiled and nodded to Mac.
"Good," he breathed heavily while pushing himself up, "Now we gotta get going."
I laughed thinking he was joking. There was no way I was going anywhere like this, feeling this way. But Mac's face looked completely serious.
"Where are we going?" I asked getting up myself.
