Mac pov.
I'd told Skye that Matty had called me into the Phoenix but really I was just going to the lab. We had finally managed to perfect the KX7 drug. This was monumental. I couldn't just let that knowledge sit there. So I made more.
We needed it just in case... at least that's what I told myself. If Skye knew I was here making it again she'd be pissed. She didn't want us to have anything else to do with that drug. And while I didn't blame her I also couldn't let this life saving discovery go to waste.
I finished with the tenth syringe and placed it in the cooler with the others about the time that Jack walked in.
"A nerd's work is never done huh?" He cracked a smile at me as he came in. I just chuckled in return taking my lab coat off.
"Actually I think I am done for now," I said with a sigh.
"What were you even doing?" Jack ruffled his eyebrows looking around the lab that was empty except for the two of us. I opened my mouth to only stutter an on the spot lie out to him when my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out the see Skye's contact on the screen. Jack saw it too cause when I answered it he asked, "What's Princess up to?"
"Skye?" I said into the phone. I didn't hear a response. Just a slight noise that sounded like the phone falling to the ground. I put it on speaker as I concentrated. Jack just looked at me strangely.
"Maybe she just butt dialed you," he shrugged. Then I heard a loud, sharper noise like glass shattering. That's when Jack and I shot looks at each other and ran out of the room.
"Hey blondie!" Matty called to me while I ran but I didn't stop. And Jack didn't either.
"You think something's wrong?" He asked as we climbed into this car.
"I don't know," I shrugged, "but with our track record I don't want to take any chances."
Jack sped towards my house and we never stopped. At long last we pulled into the driveway. We both sprinted to the house, Jack with his gun out, but we quickly stopped at the sight we saw once we opened the door.
The house was a mess. Things scattered and thrown everywhere. Jack held a hand over my chest as I went to run into the disaster to find Skye and my son.
"Skye!" I called out. Jack turned and shushed me giving me a look like I knew better than to yell like that when there could still be a threat near by.
The slightest hint of a strange chemical smell hit my nose.
"Do you smell that Jack?" I whispered to him. Luckily with us standing in the open doorway it wasn't too strong and with the door open the drug in the air was free to disperse and leave the house.
"Kinda," he responded taking a whiff of the air, "what is it?"
"I'm not quite sure," I said stepping farther into the house and taking a deeper breath of it. I stumbled back feeling a firm hand on my back keeping me on my feet.
"Woah there bud," Jack chuckled in a whisper, "maybe don't go inhaling the knockout gas like that."
I stepped out of the house looking around for something to use.
"How are we going to get in there if we can't even breathe?" Jack questioned. I didn't answer because my mind was already racing for what to do, and Jack knew that.
I could hear Jack pull out his phone and call Matty telling her to get an ambulance and detox truck out here pronto.
Seeing no other option I ripped my button up shirt off leaving me in only my white shirt underneath. I took my Swiss Army knife out and cut the fabric in half from the collar to the tail of the shirt. I handed Jack one half and he quickly followed my action of tying it around the bottom half of our face to cover our nose and mouth.
"Listen," my voice came out muffled by the shirt, "this isn't going to give us forever in there. So we'll need to grab them and get out until Matty can get the Phoenix out here."
Jack nodded raising his gun, "let's do this."
We charged inside actually getting a good look at everything now. There were things scattered everywhere. I started straight for Stone's room to find him. Jack ran toward the living room. Neither one of us liked splitting up when there could be a possible threat in the house but right now we just needed to find Skye and Stone and get them out of here.
I saw Stone in his crib. He looked unharmed. And he also looked to be awake. His eyes fluttered and weren't quite focused on anything but he was awake. I didn't take the time there to dwell on it. I just snatched him up and ran towards the living room.
"Mac!" Jack called my name as I came. When I got to him I saw Skye sprawled out across the floor. She was on her stomach and her hair was a mess around her head, covering her face. Jack holstered his gun and rolled her over. Her breathing was obviously labored but besides that she appeared unharmed.
Jack scooped her up bridal style and together we ran out of the house.
"How's Stone?" Jack asked when we were out as he lowered himself to his knees on the grass to lay Skye down. We both ripped the make shift masks off our face.
"He seems to be okay," I said looking him over once more, "Here."
I leaned down towards Jack to hand the child to him. Jack took him and stepped back. I rolled Skye over onto her side and pushed the strands of hair from her face.
"Skye," I softly shook her shoulder praying she would open her eyes. Her pulse was still strong but her labored breathing concerned me.
However, to my surprise, her eyes slowly fluttered open.
"Hey," I said cupping her face, "Skye, look at me." Her eyes carelessly traveled up but they still wouldn't quite focus. "What happened?"
"Man," she breathed. Her eyes closed again for a moment but I quickly brought her attention back.
"Man?" I questioned, "what man?"
"C-Closet," she said between wheezes.
Just then an ambulance and a large black van pulled into my driveway. I looked back down at Skye to see her eyes had closed once more and she was unconscious again. I looked back to Jack with a serious look. We'd both heard what Skye said. Maybe she was talking nonsense or maybe she was telling us where the threat was.
I stood to my feet as Jack passed Stone back to me. He then retreated over to the black van for as gas mask. I heard him bark orders at a few Phoenix tact team members who were now present as well. And then they all headed into the house.
A medical team made their way over to my little family.
"How long was she exposed to the toxin?" The head nurse asked as she first checked Skye's pulse.
"I don't know," I shrugged, "Thirty minutes maybe."
The woman nodded and I watched them load Skye onto a stretcher and into the ambulance. An oxygen mask was quickly placed on her face but her wheezing continued. I climbed in the back with Stone in my arms.
"Was he exposed as well?" The nurse looked at the child in my arms. I nodded and she took him from me, cradling him with care. I watched the nurse with my son carefully but at the same time I reached over and grasped Skye's hand with my own. The rest of the ride back to the hospital was long and quiet.

Author's Note:
Hey y'all! So I know y'all were expecting an update to my other Macgyver fanfiction first but I had hit a bit of a bump in that story line and the creativity is just flowing out for this one. I will do my best to get the next chapter for Void up soon but for now I hope y'all enjoy this!
Let me know what you think? Also Friday's episode was amazing. I love seeing Mac doing things like facing fears and such but I hate when Jack is not there. Also on another note I hated the episode because Mac and Desi... um no. What do y'all think of that?
Much love y'all!
