Chapter Twenty Seven: Some Extra Action

I began sweating furiously. What do I do…? There’s no way we can take them all…

“If you do not surrender, we will have to shoot you! You know what, men, shoot in three… two… one…” He never finishes.

“NOW!” A woman’s scream pieces the air, as thousands of Redhawk soldiers fly over the walls, doing drop kicks to the guards as they land. I had never seen dragonlings fight hand to hand, but I can tell you it was almost as graceful as doing dance moves. And even more so coordinated. Fire, ice, lightning, wind, earth, the elements go flying as the two sides begin casting magic at one another.

“Alexander! Get your butt out of here! NOW!” The person who lead the charge was none other than Racla, the commander of the Chromatic army, as well as heir to the dragonling throne. He nods, and salutes.

“Yes mam!” He suddenly activates his Redhawk Armor, and is covered in armor in seconds. The helmet resembles the beak of a hawk, and where his ears would be, there were wing like designs. The armor was colored red with black highlights, his military file correctly called him, ‘The Flaming Falcon’.

“Come on, Danica. We’re leaving.” His voice deepened in his armor and made him sound cruel and sinister. Not that he already wasn’t cruel and rude… “I heard that.” He says in his filtered voice, and I shuddered, as I remembered his annoying ability to read minds.

I decided not to waste time, and began fighting my way through the chaotic fighting now raging around me. I am doing well, before I detect someone about to stab me, a sapphire soldier had raised his sword to strike me down, but then a sword sprouted from his chest, and he toppled over, Alexander had intercepted him.

“Thanks!” I shout over the din of battle.

“You’ll receive a bill for my services!” He yells sarcastically. Suddenly, the sapphire dragonling that had manned the Phazer Cannon yelled,

“There’s no way I’ll let you escape, bitch!” He roars, and lets loose. In seconds, Alexander had thrown himself in front of me, making himself a human shield.

“Don’t worry, stupid pixie. I’m fine.” He says in his filtered voice. “Just keep running. This armor is made of Crysem. It’s not going to be damaged anytime soon.” Crysem is a magical compound created by magically fusing metals and gems together, forming an unshatterable glass like compound that could slice or block anything. I nod, and begin running. A stray Phazer shot pierces my leg, and I cry out, the energy bolt burned a hole straight through, and blood gushes out in a sickly flow.

“You!!!” Alexander roars as he charges the dragonling, who only has seconds to react before Alexander rams his sword straight through his skull. Violently pulling it out, he burns the blood off with his fire breath. He then rushes to me, murmurs a quick mending spell to close the wound, and growls,

“Come on, Crown. We’re out of here.” He suddenly tosses the both of us over the side of the prison, and we begin falling. Really, really fast.

Alexander spins in the air, his wings spreading and opening, catching the wind. His armor shoots out a grappling hook that reins me in, and then four metal ribs attach around my body, strapping me against his back.

“Hey Danica? Ever flown Supersonic? Well guess what? Now’s your lucky day. Except for the Phazer wound.” I don’t respond. I’ve passed out.

“Well, this is just perfect,” I murmur to myself, as the STUPID pixie has fallen unconscious. I pick up the speed, slowly charging my powers. The fairy didn’t know it, but I had actually during our little chase back in Feltatus, had to delay my return home so I could use my supersonic speed. It requires a little time to charge up. But once I’m going, I’m gone. Evidently, the guards knew that, because they started scrambling jets. Fuuuuu! I hated this part of the training!! And now I know why they had me undergo these situations in training! Now my instructor is going to be able to say, ‘I told you so.’ This won’t do at all.

Commander Racla, I’m going to be late. I need to visit Ruvain Hall. Naltheria wants something, and if I don’t visit, she’ll chew me out. Not that I care… but you know how that woman is.

Understood, Junior Commander Alexander. What’s your status?

I’m being chased by a large angry ‘flock’ of fighter jets, and I have a wounded fairy resting on my back. Phazer shot to the leg. Went right through the muscle and bone. Status is just puuurrrfect. How are you? I inject severe venomous sarcasm into my thoughts.

**sigh** Is that REALLY necessary, Alexander? Racla was never a fan of sarcasm.

No, I suppose it’s not. Alexander out. I dismiss myself, bored of conversation.

Rodger that. After Ruvain Hall, will you return home?

Not yet. I’m going to dump the pixie off at Feltatus, then, I have to take care of THEM. I growl the word THEM out.

… Right. Understood. After they let you return, please come back to Sunneroria. The insurrection is getting stronger, and they’ve secured another Destruction Bomb Plant.

That’s not good. I’ll see what I can do. Until then, I have to lose the losers.

I stretch my wings, and angle myself for an abrupt landing. If I was going to get away in Supersonic, I was going to have to run. This will be quite a fun little game. For me, that is. The pixie might lose her stomach a few times, but at least her mouth will be facing behind me.

Now, little birdies, let’s see how fast you can fly and I can run.
