Chapter 46: Voice of the Goddess of Light
I take a long shower, while pondering to myself what I’ve seen and heard today.
Could it be true? Is Grandfather really the reason why so many of these dragonlings have lost their families? No! Grandfather’s a good man, he did only what was right for the Fairywoodlands! He would never shame our nation in such a violent way! And what about Alexander? I know he’s lost his comrades in battle but… I just feel that whatever makes him angry, what makes him hate me and my family… is almost ten time worse than their deaths. What happened to him? What makes him have such rage in his heart?
After a while, I step out of the shower, relieved that the Chromatics at least had baths. Uggh, that would be terrible if that wasn’t the case…
I quickly dry off, and put pajamas on, luckily I had the foresight to bring some with me early on.
Even still, why does he hate ME? I never did anything to him! Why? I don’t understand any of this! When will I get some answers?!
I see a insignia of Alexandi, and hurl a pillow at it.
That’s not very appropriate for a princess, is it? A female voice rings in my head, it’s words full of ancient power.
Who are you? I ask, scared by this presence.
Has it really been that long since my will last contacted you? I would think the presence of a GODDESS would be hard to forget. The voice rings in my head, seemingly bemused.
You’re… that goddess, Irintis, wasn’t that the name? What do you want?
Considering that my holy symbol you just smacked with that pillow, you tell me.
Oh… wait. I thought that was Alexandi’s family symbol.
It is. It is also the symbol of my people’s faith. She replies, her voice echoing as though she was in a cave.
What do you want, Irintis, not to sound rude, I would like to go to bed with the same amount of questions I started off with, not a few dozen more. I irritably reply, wanting to go to bed SOO bad.
Danica Crown, it is time to open your eyes to the truth of things.
Come to me. And suddenly, a mighty shaft of light envelops me, and for a moment, I lose consciousness.
