The other guests started arriving around noonish. "Hey!" Parker said as she answered the door for the fourth time in five minutes. This time it was Dave and Lorraine. "Hey pumpkin!" Her father said. "Where's the birthday boy?" He asked her. Parker pointed to the living room. "He's currently playing with Scout and Danny in the living room." She told him stepping aside for him to step through. "Hey mama." She said leaning down for a hug. Lorraine kissed her cheek. "How's motherhood treating you?" Her mother asked. Parker shrugged and smiled. "About as good as should be expected I suppose. Some days are better than others, but you should see Kristina with him. She's a lifesaver." She said glowing. She took her mother's coat from her and guided her to where everyone was at. Kristina saw her and came running up to meet her.
"Lorraine!" She exclaimed, hugging the older woman. "I'm so glad you could come! We've missed you!" Lorraine smiled at her daughter in law. "Well of course we came! What kind of grandparents would we be if we missed Morgan's first birthday?" She replied. "Where is he? Dave went looking for him a few minutes ago, but I haven't seen him yet." Danny came out of the guest hallway bathroom and saw Lorraine. "Hey gramma!" He said. "Are you looking for Morgan?" He asked her. She nodded her head and smiled. "He's in here!" He told her grabbing her hand. "Don't worry. I washed my hands." He reassured her and she laughed. "I believe you." She said with a laugh and was led off to find her husband and the other children.
Kristina walked over to her wife and wrapped an arm around her waist. "We certainly have a full house don't we?" She said, leaning into the standing woman's side. "Yes we do," Parker agreed. "I think there are more adults than children though." She said with a frown. Kristina leaned up on her tip toes and kissed the blonde's cheek. "He's fine babe. He's just happy to have so many people around giving him attention." She assured her, pulling her into the room where their son was playing with his Grandpa Dave Scout with some blocks. "Look at him." She beamed. "He's gonna be an engineer or something." Parker laughed as the block tower he had been building fell over and he started crying. "We'll see if he get's better and handling the setbacks first." She joked as they both walked over and kneeled beside their little boy.
"It's okay honey," Parker told Morgan in a soft voice. "Look at this." She said, stacking them back up. "See? No big deal. Sometimes things happen, but they can almost always be fixed." He smiled that big smile that he most certainly had gotten from Kristina and started crawling toward her. She reached out and picked him up. "We can just try the blocks another time yeah?" She said, kissing his forehead. Kristina appeared beside them in no time. "How about this?'" She asked, looking at Morgan. "How about we have cake?" She said and his face lit up. He may only be one, but the kid obviously knew what cake was. Parker and Kristina laughed. "And then we can do presents yeah? How's that sound?" She asked him and he squealed. "Good enough answer for me. I'll go get the regular cake cut and get his ready too. Do you have him for a bit?" She asked Parker who leaned down and kissed her. "Yes! Go on, we'll be fine in the party warzone." She joked and took of with Morgan into the crowd of adults.
When Kristina came back, she had Sonny with her. He had the normal sized cake, while Kristina held the cake that Morgan was supposed to smash for his first birthday. He seemed to be liking blue lately, so they had just gotten him a giant Cookie Monster cupcake with a number 1 in it. Everyone began singing happy birthday and his curious eyes looked around the room. All the singing must have confused him because he was going to start crying. Thankfully his parents were down there almost immediately and when the singing was over, he was fine. "Make a wish and blow it out," Kristina told him, referring to the candle. She didn't know that he'd actually made a wish, but he blew the candle out and spit all over his moms. They weren't bothered though.
"Give him the cupcake Aunt Kristina!" Danny told her. "I wanna see him wear the cake!" He said and all the adults started laughing. Kristina obliged him and handed Morgan the cupcake. He seemed kind of clueless at first until Parker dipped her finger in the icing. "This is what you do with it," She said to her son before taking the icing on her finger and poking his other mother's nose with it. "Parker!" Kristina exclaimed, halfway between laughing and being in shock. Morgan thought it was funny and squealed a happy squeal. He shoved both of his hands into the cupcake covering them in blue icing before placing one hand on each of his parent's faces. Now Kristina and Parker both had blue face paint. "Now THAT is picture worthy!" They heard Alexis say and heard the click of a camera. "This is going on my fridge. Feel free to let me know if anyone wants a copy." She stated and Lorraine spoke up. "Actually Alexis, I think I want one of those too." She said with a smile. Alexis nodded and looked and Sonny and Carly who were still laughing. "Us too!'' Carly told her.
Parker looked at Kristina and smiled. "Well let's at least get one that's been planned." She said and they both smiled at each other before planting kisses on the baby. One mother on each side of his gooey, blue, chunky cheeks. Now that was gonna be a picture worth framing.
After the cake, things wrapped up pretty quickly. They did presents before everyone left and thankfully Dave and Lorraine had listened. They brought him new toys and clothes like everyone else, but they hadn't forgotten the diapers. They had even gotten him wipes and teething rings. Kristina hugged Dave's neck tight. "Thank you so much Dave. Parker and I were just discussing this this morning. He's been going through diapers like crazy." She explained and he squeezed her back. "Don't worry about it pumpkin. Give him another 6 months to a year and you'll be wishing he was back in these things." He told her. "I wasn't sure if he had any teeth coming in yet, but we figured if he hasn't yet, he would soon." Kristina nodded. "That was something else we were discussing. He's been chewing on everything. We're pretty sure he's got another one coming in so this is going to be very helpful." She told him, thanking him again. "Are you guys sure you can't stay for a few days?" She asked. "I know Parker would be thrilled to have you." Dave shook his head. "We're gonna get the hotel for the night, but our flight leaves in the morning. It's fine, you two have the baby now and we are more than okay with giving you your space." Kristina nodded. "If you say so. Please let us know when before you leave and when you land okay?" "We will," Dave promised, handing his wife her coat. "We love you guys." He told them, Parker and Morgan included as they were now standing next to Kristina to see them out. "Love you too." Parker told them before watching them walk to their car and leave. They were the last of the guests.
Kristina turned around to find Morgan asleep on Parker's shoulder. "Someone looks all tuckered out." She said, kissing the baby's forehead. "You wanna go put him in his bed or should I?" She asked. Parker shook her head. "I got it honey. Go pick out a movie or something," She told her with a smile and Kristina nodded her head in agreement. When Parker came back in the room, she did find that Kristina had managed to turn on the tv. That being said, she must have also been 'tuckered out' because the she herself was now passed out on the couch in much of the same sleeping position that Morgan was in. "They are definitely my babies." Parker said with a chuckle and covered up the one on the couch before going and finding something to do while the other two took a well needed nap.
