Parker left Kristina and Morgan still sleeping when she went to work the next morning a little earlier than usual. When she arrived at PCU, she went straight to the dean's office. She knocked twice and he answered. "Come in." She heard and she opened the door. "Hello sir," She said to him. He looked at her impatiently, but made a gesture for her to be seated. She sat. "I have something I would like to run by you, if you have the time." Parker told him with an awkward smile. She and Dean Paulson weren't really on the best of terms, considering he'd fired her earlier on in her career once and then when he almost fired her again for Kristina attacking on of her students, even if she had deserved it.
"What can I do for you professor?" He asked. "You'll have to make it quick," He said as he looked at his watch. "I have a meeting in 15 minutes." He informed her. She nodded her head. "Yes sir." She said and then she began. "I was wondering if I could exchange my full time teaching position for the substitute teaching one?" She asked him, watching his facial expression, which was still tense and full of dislike. "Ms. Corinthos-" He began before she cut him off. "It's still Forsyth, well Forsyth Corinthos- Davis, but I still use Forsyth in professional circumstances." She finished. He cleared his throat. "Well then, Ms. Forsyth, if I may continue," He said, clearly annoyed. "The sub position has already been filled. They just got the job yesterday." He explained. "Why are you wanting to switch?"
Parker was sure that her poker face was no longer holding up. This was a major let down. "I need to spend more time at home. My wife needs help with our son-" She was trying to explain. She didn't have to say anymore. He didn't care. "You'll have to figure something else out, Ms. Forsyth. We don't have an available position." Parker caught what he was doing and she was not having it. "With all due respect sir, I know you don't like my wife. I have no idea why considering how goody goody you are with her father," She told him and he gave her a serious look. "You should stop while you're ahead Professor." He told her, but she didn't. "You don't have to approve of my relationship to respect me or my family. My wife and my kid are my number one priority. I understand that there may not be a position open, what I don't understand is why I got the reaction I did when I mentioned Kristina." She said angrily. "Don't worry Dean Paulson, you won't have to deal with us anymore. I quit. I can easily find a teaching job in Port Charles that won't discriminate against my marriage." She informed the man who's jaw had dropped, not expecting the normally calm and mellow woman to flip her lid the way she was. She got up and walked to the door before turning around. "Now would be a good time for you to call that sub," She said and she walked out the door. Shit, She thought to herself. That did NOT go as planned."Honey?" She said when she walked in the door to their home. "We're in here!" She heard from the baby's bedroom. She made her way down the hall and found Morgan and Kristina playing with his musical instruments. She had his little piano and he had his drum, just banging away. "You're home early!" Kristina yelled over all the noise. Parker gave her an awkward glance. "Yeah... We should probably talk about that." She said and Kristina put her arm over the drum Morgan was beating. "Mommy is gonna go talk to Mama in the hall okay?" She told him before letting him go back to banging on it. She got up to go stand with Parker in the doorway right outside his door so they could still see him.
"What's wrong babe?" She asked, voice and face both filled with concern. Parker looked down at the floor briefly before realizing she should probably just tell her. "Dean Paulson said something today and I might have said/done something I'm going to regret." She began. "He asked why I was there and as soon as I said your name, he cut me off and told me he gave the position to someone else. He's still the same homophobic asshole." She said. It wasn't often that Parker swore at all, and when she did, she was usually angry. She knew he had upset her which in return was making Kristina angry as well. She, however decided to bit her lip and let her wife continue. "So," Parker told her. "I quit..... I tried to explain to him that I needed to be home more to help with Morgan, but he wouldn't even let me finish. There was so much spite in his voice!" She said angrily. "So I am gonna start looking elsewhere for a part time teaching position."
Kristina grabbed both hands of the woman she loved. "Babe," She began, making sure she had her attention. "It's okay. We know how he is already, and we know he's not gonna change. As far as you quitting, don't look so nervous. It's fine." She told her squeezing one of her hands. Parker looked at her with an eye brow hitched. "Seriously?" She asked and Kristina nodded her head. "I make more than enough money now for both of us. Plus I can still do it from home. As far as that goes, you don't have to go back to work unless you want to." Kristina told her, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "Think about it. Okay?" She instructed her, sneaking one more kiss but this time on her hand before walking back into Morgan's bedroom to assist in the noise making.
