"Kristina," Parker said, moving the hair out of her sleeping beauty's face. "Hey, it's time to get up sleepy head." Kristina groaned and rolled over. "I don't have to go to school today, it's saturday." She said, clearly still asleep. Parker scooted closer to her wife, putting her front against the smaller woman's back and wrapped her arms around her. Kristina, even in her sleep, grabbed ahold of the blonde's hands and held them in place. "Honey," Parker tried waking her from her nap again. "It's graduation day."
"Shit." Kristina said, immediately sitting up, eyes still half closed and hair in every direction. "I forgot. I'm a horrible mother." She leaned into the taller woman and let her comb her hair with her finger's. "You aren't horrible," Parker reassured her. "You just were up working really late last night. I don't think you came to bed until almost 2 am." Kristina rubbed her eyes. "I'm sorry babe, I've just been behind in paperwork with the move. I'm caught up now though." She said as Parker kissed the top of her head. "What time does the ceremony start?" Parker looked at the pamphlet. "It says here that we need to be there at 6. I waited until 5 to wake you, so you have time to get ready, but we'll have to leave soon."
Kristina got out of the bed. "Alright. Is he ready?" She asked as she walked into their bathroom too tired to care about shutting the door to pee. "Yeah, he's actually downstairs waiting in the den. I think he's playing that Playstation thing or something." Parker told her. Kristina gave a soft laugh. "It's an Xbox babe. Two completely different consoles." Parker walked into the bathroom to fix her hair. "Whatever it is, he practically lives on that thing." Kristina tilted her head and nodded. "That's true. Maybe he won't play it as much since you can teach him how to ride here." She replied, referring to the ATVs in the garage. Parker laughed. "If I had known that all it would take for you to let me teach him was to get him an Xstation-" Kristina cleared her throat. "Xbox," She corrected. "Whatever," Parker continued, rolling her eyes. "I would have gotten him one sooner."
Kristina finished up and exited the bathroom, headed for the closet. "Should I wear the blue one or the black one?" She asked, holding up two different jumpers. Parker pointed to the black. "Or the blue. You look gorgeous in both." She told her. Kristina picked up the black one. "You are a kiss ass," She joked, kissing her wife softly. "But I love it so either way I win." She said, squealing with laughter when Parker lunged forward and began tickling her. Moms!" They heard from downstairs. "Come on!" Morgan yelled. "We're gonna be late!" Parker and Kristina both made a fake frightened face. "Ooooooh mama, you are in trouble." Kristina joked. "Um, so are you." Parker replied still laughing. "I'll go get him in the car. We'll see you downstairs?" She asked leaning in for another quick kiss. "Give me five minutes," Kristina told her, giving her wife the kiss she was wanting. "Yes ma'am." Parker said and took off downstairs.  I am not near awake enough to put this thing on. She thought to herself as she put one leg in and then the other.

They were seated just before the graduation ceremony started. The principle, Ms. Amanda was finishing up the opening speech thanking the parents for coming out (Parker and Kristina were laughing during that part like kindergartners themselves) to see the children moving on to the next step in life. "I hope all of the children here tonight know that it was a pleasure to have you here, and please take what all you've learned with you to the next grade."
There was a long list of names before they made it to Morgan's, but to see him walk across the stage was worth it. He had the biggest smile on his face. "I can't believe this is happening. Look at him!" Kristina all but screamed, trying her best to contain the happy tears running down her face. "He's such a big boy now." She said and Parker took her hand and kissed it. "He is, but he's a smart boy too. It helps that he has such a brilliant mother to show him the way." Kristina turned to face her after he'd walked off stage. "Yeah," she said. "You." Parker laughed a little. "Um, no. I was talking about you honey, but thank you."
Kristina looked down at her phone. It was 8 o clock. "When are we supposed to go find him?" She asked, still wiping tears from her face. "I don't think we need to." Parker replied. "What-" She began and she felt a tap on her shoulder. "Hey mom! Did you see me up there? Did you? I didn't even fall like I did in rehearsal!" He told her as he leaned in to hug both of his parents. "Yes we did!" Kristina told him, standing up to leave. "You were amazing! Mama and I are so proud of you!" She said and Parker agreed. "You did so good little man! What do you say we go put some food in that belly of yours? You can pick where we eat." He grabbed a hand from each of them and walked in between them. "I want chicken nuggets." Parker laughed. "McDonald's it is." She said and they left to go eat.
