A few days later, Kristina was in her office at Perks when she heard a knock on the door. "Come in." She said as she capped her pen and put it in the pen holder. Parker and Morgan walked in. "Hey loves!" She said as she got up from her desk and walked over to them. "Why aren't you in school?" She asked Morgan. Her son turned his gaze to the office floor. Parker cleared her throat and he looked up at her. "Go on, tell her what happened."  Morgan sighed.
"I said some bad words at school today." He informed her. Kristina got down on her knees so she could level with the now red faced boy. "What made you do that?" She could see his eyes beginning to water. She looked at her wife who had a soft expression on her face. "The other kids were making fun of me because I have two mommies and no daddy." He said. "What's a fag?" He asked suddenly and Kristina's jaw dropped. "It's a very naughty word for someone that is attracted to or is in love with someone of the same sex. Like mommy and mama are both girls but we love each other. Lucas and Brad too." She explained. "Although gay is a much nicer term. Is that what you got in trouble for saying?" She asked.
Parker took a deep breath while she waited on him to fill his other mother in. She knew Kristina was going to be more angry with the school than she was with him and this made her nervous. She was all to familiar with how Kristina was when it came to those she loved, and she could only imagine what she was gonna do when she found out about today.
"No." He told her, suddenly looking angry. "I got into trouble because I called them all assholes." He admitted. "I  know it was a bad word, but I knew they were being really mean mom. They kept saying we were all fags and I told the teacher but she didn't do anything so they kept messing with me. Then I threw a marker at Tyler's head and got sent to the principle's office." He told her. "I know it was bad, but he deserved it! He was saying that you and Mama were gross and that his dad said you were going to Hell. I don't think you deserve Hell because you are the best moms in the world." He said as he began to cry.
Kristina took Morgan's face into her hands. "Son," She began. "You cannot act like that, especially in school." She said with a frown. "I understand your frustration, I really do, but you can't get violent like that just because you are angry." She explained to him. "I'm sorry you have to deal with things like that in school. You shouldn't have to and Mommy is going to take care of it alright?" Morgan nodded his head and Kristina kissed his forehead. "You never have to defend either one of us," She gestured between herself and Parker. "It's not the child's job to defend the parent, not the other way around okay? And no more bad words, got it?" He nodded his head. "Why don't you go to the front counter and ask Melissa if she will give you some lunch? Tell her I sent you and that I'll pay before I leave work today." He said okay solemnly and went out the door to do as he was told. Parker shut it behind him.
"What are we gonna do about that school?" Parker asked. She had done pretty well at keeping it together with Morgan around, but when he left it was like the lip popped off. "Like seriously? Not saying that him saying asshole is okay because it isn't, but he literally told his teacher that they were calling him/fags and she didn't even care until he threw the marker." Kristina smiled at that part. "That's my boy!" Parker gave her a stern look and the smile was replaced with a straight face. "I mean, that's horrible. He should not be doing things like that." She said and Parker gave in with a laugh. "Don't encourage him honey." Kristina threw her hands up. "My bad! I just like the fact that he stands up for himself and other people. It's a good quality to have.'' Parker nodded in agreement. "Only if it's called for. Words are words." She told Kristina who shook her head. "That's where you are wrong babe." She said now looking serious. "Words can hurt just as bad if not worse than that marker upside that kids head. Does he go back to school tomorrow?" She asked and her wife said yes. "Yeah, he's only been sent home for the day." "Good," Kristina told her. "It looks like I'll be taking him to school in the morning. His teacher and I need to have a conversation."
