At the end of the school day when all of the other kids had left, Morgan approached his mother's desk. "Are you almost done?" He asked when he noticed she was still grading papers. Parker removed her glasses from her face so she could see him better. "Almost," She told him. "I suppose I could finish up at home though. Are you ready to go?" She asked him as she put the rest of the papers into her teaching bag. He showed her the backpack on his back and the lunchbox in his hands. "Yes ma'am." He told her with a smile. She returned it and stood up from her seat. "Alright then." She said with a laugh. "We have to make a stop on the way home though. Your mother and I want to get your opinion on something." Morgan looked confused. "What is it?" He asked. She put her hand on his back, guiding him out the door. "You'll know when you see it."

They pulled into the driveway of the house she and Kristina had looked at yesterday and  got out of the truck. "Who's house is this?" Morgan asked as they approached the door. "I'm not sure yet. That's why we're here." She informed him before ringing the doorbell. A few seconds later, Alison answered the door.
"Ms. Alison?" Morgan asked as he looked back and forth between the two of them. The lady looked down at the boy standing in front of her. "Hello Morgan!" She said and then turned her attention to the tall blonde. "Back so soon?" Parker nodded. "It was only a little out of the way, so I thought I'd let him check it out. Do you mind?" She asked. "Not at all," Alison replied. "Come on in."
"Why are we here mama?" He asked Parker as they walked inside. He reached for her hand and held himself close to her as they did so. Parker gave his hand a little squeeze. "It's okay. She's a nice lady. I'm sure you've seen her in the halls?" She reminded him. He shrugged his shoulders. "I guess so. She's Maddie's teacher." He stated, referring to one of his friends from school. Parker nodded, "See, she's okay. She's also moving really soon and has to sell her house." She told him. With that, it finally seemed to click in Morgan's brain why they were there.  "Are we going to move here?" He asked. "That's why I brought you here. Mom and I wanted to see what you thought about it first."  Alison interjected then with a "You can look around if you want." Parker nudged her son slightly. "Why dont you do that while I talk to Ms. Alison for a minute." He did as he was told and took off roaming throughout the house.
When he was out of hearing distance, Parker brought her attention back to the woman in front of her. "Thanks for this, by the way. I know this time wasn't planned at all." She said, referring to she and Morgan dropping in without calling first. "It's completely fine. I was just packing things up and most of it's ready to go already. " Parker thought about all the packing they would also need to be doing. "I am not looking forward to that part of moving, that's for sure." She said with a laugh. "Kristina really likes this place." She told her as she looked around slightly. "I do too. I hope Morgan agrees." Alison let out a laugh. "Morgan may look just like Kristina, but he's totally you on the inside. Don't worry," She told her. "He'll love it too.''  That thought made her smile. She loved that little boy like crazy. He was sweet and funny, not to mention very intelligent for his age.
About that time, Morgan came running down the stairs with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. "Mama! There's a bedroom with a bunk bed built into the wall and a game room and a back yard and trees and-" He realized he was rambling in his excitement and cut himself short. "When do we get to move in?" That's my boy. Parker thought to herself as she tried to hold back the smile that was now stuck to her face. "You like it that much?" She asked him. He nodded ferociously. "Yes! Can we move in soon?" He asked and both Alison and his mother were laughing now. His impatience was definitely something he had gotten from Kristina. "Let's go talk to mom and find out." She told him and he reached for her hand and began dragging her to the exit.  She turned around to face Alison once more. "I guess he liked it." She said with a laugh. "We'll get back to you in the next day or so." She told her. "Thanks again!" She said as Morgan opened the door and forced them both outside. As they got in the car, Morgan strapped himself in and spoke once more. "Mom better say yes." He said with a stern look on his face. Parker shook her head in amusement. "We'll find out soon enough love. " She told him and they left, making their way to their current but more than likely temporary home.
