Parker woke up in an empty bed, which was odd because it was only 6 am and Morgan was still asleep. She walked into the living room and found Kristina sitting at the desk on the computer.
"Well good morning beautiful," Kristina said when she noticed the blonde standing behind her chair. "I thought I'd let you sleep in a little. I see it didn't work." She joked grabbing hold of the arms hugging her from behind. "It did a little," Parker admitted. "I slept a whole extra 30 minutes." She bent down and kissed the side of the typing girl's face. "What are you doing up so early though?" She asked. Kristina saved a document before exiting out and closing the laptop. "I was just finishing up some stuff I had to get filed for Perks. I wanted to get it done before the baby woke up." She explained, getting up from the chair. "That's understandable." Parker replied, stepping back out of her wife's way, who was making her way to the kitchen now.
"How are you doing?" Kristina asked, coming back with two mugs of coffee and handing Parker one of them. "What do you mean?" Parker asked slightly confused but taking the cup. "This is your first day at home." Kristina elaborated. "Are you doing okay?" She asked. Parker nodded. "Honey, we've discussed this already." Parker began. "I might try and find another teaching position part time later on, but I think I'm gonna stay home and help you with Morgan for a while first. I don't want you doing all of this by yourself." Kristina took a sip of her coffee and placed it on the coffee table before walking up to the taller blonde.
"I see where you're coming from babe, I really do. I just don't want you to think you HAVE to stop teaching. It was just an idea in case you wanted a break." She told her leaning in for a kiss. Parker complied and gave her one before replying. "I told you already Kristina, you and Morgan are my main priority now. Things change over time, and my need to teach is nowhere near my need to make sure you two are okay." She wrapped the smaller woman up in a hug and held her there for a minute, at least until they heard a whine from down the hall. "I got him," Parker told Kristina kissing the top of her head and went to get Morgan.
When she came back, she had a happy and very active toddler with her.
"Mama Mama Mama Mama Mama!" He just kept saying. Parker laughed and put him on the floor so he could crawl to Kristina. "He sure likes that word." She said with a smirk. Kristina gave a chuckle. "Wait until he starts telling us no." Morgan crawled over to his other mother and pulled himself up while holding onto Kristina's pajama pants. "Hey now!" She said laughing, trying to keep her pants up almost failing before he secured his stance. "You really have to figure somewhere else to grab ahold of me son." She told him. "Mama! Mama!" He said again smiling up at her. She knelt down on her knees so she could look him in his face.
"You gonna start walking for us soon?" She asked him. "Mama! Mama!" Was his reply and she shook her head. Parker walked over to him. "That's a good question, my young sir. You should be starting soon." She said poking him in his belly causing him to squeal with laughter and plop down on his butt. "You'll get there baby boy." She told him with a smile.
Kristina went into the kitchen to get his breakfast ready and Parker sat down in the floor next to him while she sang him his ABC's. "It's insane," Parker yelled into the kitchen. "That babies can sing before they can speak. He literally has no idea what he's doing, but he's totally gotten half of them memorized." "I know right?!" Kristina replied in the distance. "He's such a smart boy already." Parker looked at Morgan. "Yes you are!" She told him, making him giggle. "Baby genius is what we should have named you." She joked.
The baby crawled over to the table and pulled himself up like he usually did. He was big on standing and jumping, he just hadn't made it to the walking yet. He grabbed on of his baby books off the table and put the corner of it in his mouth. "Are you hungry?" Kristina asked him as she stood in the doorway to the kitchen holding his food. His face lit up and he licked his lips. "I take that as a yes," Parker said as she and Kristina let out a slight laugh. Kristina began making her way across the living room but stopped a few feet in front of him. "Are you suuuuuure you're hungry?" She teased slightly. He nodded his head yes. "You have to come get it if you are." She told him. He plopped down where he was standing. "That went about as well as expected." She said with an eye roll. She put his food on the tray of his high chair and went to go pick him up. He pulled himself up with the table again and she bent down to pick him up. Then she and Parker both witnessed a shocking surprise. He took a step towards his chair. And then another. And another. And another. He made it halfway there before he fell again.
"PARKER HE'S WALKING!!!!!! EEEEEEEK!!!!!" Kristina squealed and they both ran over to him to praise his good work. "I told you that you were a smart boy." Parker told him with a cheesing grin. "You'll have this walking thing down in no time!" She picked him up and hugged him. "We are so proud of you!" She told him, still smiling ear to ear. Kristina walked up and hugged him also, making him the meat of a baby sandwich. "That we are." She said, covering his entire face in kisses. He laughed and pushed her away with his wee little hands. "Mama! Mama!" He said and Parker went ahead and carried him the rest of the way to his seat. She put him in and let him eat. "He would walk for some food." Parker said with a laugh shaking her head. "Just like his mother." Kristina playfully smacked her wife's arm. "Whatever! You know you love us. " She told her. "Yes," Parker replied kissing the woman she loved. "Yes, I do."
