Parker came home to a quiet house. The car was still in the driveway so she made her way around the house looking for Kristina and Morgan. When she found them, her heart melted. They were in their bedroom cuddled up and sleeping in their bed. She climbed in behind Kristina and decided to lay down too, at least until one of her sleeping angels woke up. After a few minutes, the arm she had wrapped around Kristina was met by the hand of the sleeping girl.
"You're home," She mumbled, rolling over softly and facing Parker, careful as to not wake up the baby. Parker smiled. "Yes ma'am. You two sleep the same, not sure if you've noticed." She replied in a whisper. Kristina turned and looked at Morgan whose hair was all over the place and drool hanging out of his mouth. "Oh come on. I do not look like that." Kristina told her in a stern voice, but quickly sitting up and running her hands through her hair and wiping her mouth. "Yes you do," Parker told her, assisting with the fixing of her wife's hair. "But you are just as adorable as he is." She leaned in and kissed Kristina's nose, who in return rolled her eyes. "Whatever," Kristina replied grumpily but leaning  into the body of the taller girl.
"I talked to my dad today," She said "Oh yeah?" Parker replied. "What did he say?" Kristina pulled herself even tighter into the arms  of the woman she loved. "He said he's more than happy to give me my job back. He said it didn't sound like a bad idea for you to be home more too." She admitted. Parker rolled her eyes this time. "Yeah I know, I'm like the worst wife ever." She joked. "All jokes aside though," She continued, "I'm talking to the dean in the morning to see what I can do about the substitute teacher position." Kristina gave her a somewhat still sleepy smile. "Thank you for doing this." She told her, kissing her arm. "I know you'd rather be teaching." She said, with an practically unnoticeable sadness, but Parker caught it.
"Look honey. Teaching was my life. I've been doing it for several years and yes I love it and all of my students. I enjoy introducing facts to them in fun and interesting ways and I enjoy all of the stupid ridiculous questions that they ask where I have to fight the urge to laugh because seriously, some of it is just common sense." She admitted. "That being said, I didn't have my own kid before. I didn't have you to come home to. I didn't have the same goals 5 years ago that I do now. Things change Kristina, and so do people. You and that little boy right there?" She told her, pointing to their sleeping son. "That is what my life is now." She stated matter of factly. "I could care less about anything else."
Kristina sat up and looked at her. "You always know what to say don't you?" She asked with a smile. "Well," Parker replied. "I do teach Lit class..." She said and Kristina let a giggle escape her lips. "Don't make me laugh. He's gonna wake up." She told her, smacking the taller girl's arm. Parker leaned in close. "But I like making you laugh." She argued. "And I intend to do it several more times in the  lifetime we get together." Kristina planted her lips on Parker's and she could literally FEEL the love she had from her leave her body and go into the other girl. Apparently Parker could too, because both women had to stop because  they were smiling so hard that it was just teeth touching teeth at this point. "I love you." Kristina told her. "I love you too." Parker said softly.
They heard a whine and they both turned to see Morgan rubbing his eyes, trying to wake up. "Mama?" He said when he opened them, looking at Parker. "He wants you." Kristina said as she got out of the bed. "I'm gonna go make dinner anyways," She told them as she bent down to kiss both of her loves. "I'll let you know when it's ready." She said walking out of the room with a smile. Yup. She thought to herself. Life doesn't get much better than this.
