**Chapter 52**

ONAH TO THE SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Kassidi stares at Onah through the glass window as tears run down her face. Wyatt has his arms wraped around her in a hug, his eyes blood shot from trying not to cry which he failed misserably at. Cassandra and Wesley had been at the hospital for almost two days straight waiting for Onah to wake up.

His heart had stoped while they were in surgery so they tried to bring him back. He came back but he wasn't able to open his eyes. For two days they sat by his bed talking to him and holding his little hands. The doctors say he is in a form of coma but he can still feel and hear everything around him. There was always someone by his bed wether it was Wesley or Cassandra. Kassidi wasn't aloud to see him until today.

Kassidi hurts from crying. Her whole body had shaken with her tears. Her eyes are bloodshot just like Wyatt's. They have been here for twelve hours already. Kassidi had even made herself sick with all her tears.

Wesley nods his head that her and Wyatt can come in. Wyatt squeezes Kassidi's hand before they walk in. Onah's heart rate machine picks up a few notches and Kassidi freezes.

"It's okay, Kass, Onah knows your in here with him, that's all." Weslty says in soft voice.

Kassidi gulps and continues to Onah's bed. His face is bruised and his body is thinner than usual. His arms are bruised from all the needles he had in him and all the tubes conected to him. It has been two months and Onah has already had nine surgeries. His least surgery almost killed him.

Kassidi stands next to her dad and touches Onah's boney hand. Again his heart machine spikes a few notches. Kassidi gulps as the tears start to flow again. Her heart jumps in her chest as his eyes open. But he doesn't look at Kassidi, or their parents. No, he stares next to Kassidi at the wall.

He smiles and Cassandra goes to touch him but Wesley stops her. She whimpers in her seat next to his bed.

"River, come play with me." Onah says. Everyone stares at the little boy in confusion as he smiles at the wall.

His heart rate machince goes wild for two seconds, his heart spiking dangerously high. Onah smiles one last time, this time right at Kassidi, before his machince makes a constant sound, no longer beeping.

A nurse and doctor rush into the room and shoo them all out. Cassandra looses it and ends up soaking Wesley's shirt as she cries on his shoulder.

Kassidi know's he is dead. Onah is dead. Her heart feels wounded as it sinks in. They won't be able to bring him back this time. He is gone for good this time. He won't be coming back. No more Onah. No more little brother. No more coming home from school to his smiling face. No more sneaked from the freezer Ice-Cream. No more whispered conversations at night. No more movie nights with The Little Mermaid. No more sharing a room.

Kassidi is so sad she can't even cry. She lets out a wounded whimper and collapses to the floor with her back pressed to the wall. Wyatt paces back and forth, back and forth. The doctor talks to Cassandra and Wesley in hushed whispers just down the hall. It doesn't matter, Kassidi knows they can't bring him back. Cassandra lets out a strangled cry Wesley's face is pale, almost transparent from the lack of blood and oxygen getting to it.

Kassidi stares at the tiled floor ahead of her. She counts the flecks in each tile, restarting everytime she miscounts. Wyatt continues to pace. Cassandra can't stop crying, and Wesley is trying to take steady breaths.

River. A pretty name. Kassidi thinks. Why did Onah say that though? Was he having a dream and imaging things? River, such a pretty name.
