I ran to my car and drove home fast. I haven't stopped crying and I don't know why I'm so emotional. I opened the front door and yelled for my mum.

"In here Ellie" I ran into the office and she was standing up.

"Ellie what's wrong?" She looked worried and pulled me into her arms.

"Do you remember Stephen from when I was younger?"

"You knew a lot of Stephens"

"No the one I cried about at dinner because he got a girlfriend and I wanted to be his girlfriend"

She chuckled and nodded.

"He works at dad's office and I have been seeing him and today he told me he had cancer and I don't know if I took it the wrong way because I made him mad and he walked away. Mum he has cancer how can he have it. I feel like an awful person for saying what I said" I cried into her arms and she sat me down on the couch. I told her what I told him and she rubbed my arm.

"You could have handled it a little better but maybe he wasn't thinking you would react that way. I know you weren't trying to do anything wrong but maybe talk to him again and apologize"

"I know you're right. I shouldn't have said what I did. I'll call him later"

"So how was your work?"

"I never finished it. Dad's going to tell me he knew I couldn't do it"

"Oh Ellie your father won't. If you tell him what happened he will understand"

"Yeah but I always mess up things when I try to work there"

"Maybe that's not what your suppose to do"

"Yeah your right"

The doorbell rang and I got up and opened the door. Harry was smiling and took off his sunglasses.

"Harry" I smiled and hugged him.

"Hi are you okay?"

"Yeah I'll tell you later about that"

He shut the door and I didn't let go of him. I wouldn't want to ever lose Harry like that. We went up to my room and I laid on my bed with him.

"Want to tell me what happened?"

"You know how I went to lunch with a friend?"

"Yes"

"Well I went to school with him when I was younger and I was making a joke about how he slept with people and that's why he was late to work today. He works at my dad's office and he actually had a doctors appointment and I thought he slept in late. Well anyways after lunch I asked him about it and he told me has cancer and I sorta flipped out and told him he should to chemo and try to live. Well he told me he was ready to give up and I made him mad I think and he walked away and I went to my car in tears because I just did that and I feel so bad because I wasn't trying to be a bad person. He thinks I don't want to talk to him because he has cancer, that's not true at all and I just hate myself"

"Ellie calm down it's okay. You should just call him and apologize and see if he's okay"

"I just can't do anything right now"

"Yes you can"

"Like what?" I asked and he grinned.

"Come here" I laughed and he pulled me on top of him.

"You aren't a terrible person and don't hate yourself about what happened"

"I know but I wish I would have said something different"
