A Country Girl.

chapter 5

It was about 9 when I woke up, I was in my bed and there was a chair next to me. I tried to sit up but the effort sent a sharp pain through my head but I still fought to sit up and I proped myself up on the pillows. I heard someone coming up the stairs and Ty walked in. When he saw me sitting up in bed his eyes filled with tears and he called to Amy and grandpa "she's awake!" He yelled then he ran to me. I heard Amy and grandpa running up the stairs and into my room "Hailey your ok" Amy said as she gave me a tight hug which caused a sharp pain to shoot through my ribs and I groaned. She let go immediately and look at me with concern in her eyes then grandpa walked up next to her, she stepped aside still worried that she hurt me "how are you feeling honey?" Grandpa asked "I'm find papa just sore as long as I don't move to much " I answered and looked at Amy who still looked sorry for hurting me and I smiled at her reassuringly which made her smile.

After lunch the doctor came and gave me a check up " your broken ribs are healing nicely and the concussion has gone down, but you should stay in bed as much as possible miss Hailey" Dr.Miller said after doing the check up and packing away his equipment "yes sir" I said and he left with a nod. It has been 4 days since I fell off blue and I hated the fact that I couldn't do my chores or look for peach and the baby but if I wanted to heal properly then I had to do what Dr. Miller said. I couldn't stay in bed for very long tho so I went down stairs and helped Amy with house work " No Hailey you need to rest not work" she protested at first "I don't care what you say the doc said to stay in bed as much as possible and I did" I countered "bu.." She started but stoped when she realized that arguing was pointless so she gave me easy things to do and it helped keep my mind from the horses and from my pain.

"You are perfectly healthy, and free to work now" said Dr.miller. After two weeks of doing boring house work and not being able to see the horses I was vary vary happy to hear that I can work again "but don't strain your self your ribes are healed but not fully so refrain from lifting heavy objects as much as possible." "Ok" I said smiling from ear to ear I was sooooo happy to get out of the house which ment that I could hang out with Ty without having to stay inside and I could check on Carmel and go riding and do my chores "well your check up is done, so I'll be on my way now, goodbye Hailey" " goodbye Dr.Miller" the moment Dr.Miller shut my door I got dressed in my work cloths and ran down stair " so, what'd the doc say" amy asked when I got down stairs " he said I'm almost all healed but my ribs aren't quite fully healed but I can work" I said while shoveling food in my mouth "hey, slow down you don't need to eat so fast" "I do if I want to get all my chores done before lunch" I said finishing my mouth full and grabing my hat " ok well don't strain yourself" Amy said as I walked out the door " I won't " I answered.

Ty was in the barn when I came out "Ty!!" I yelled running toward him "hey" he said catching me as I jumped into his arms, it had been two weeks since I've seen Ty cuz he had to do my chores plus his and he had schoolwork to do "what did the doc say?" " I can start working again just to keep from lifting heavy object" I said giving him a cheeky grin as I looked into his beautiful blue eyes "that also means we can hangout like we used to " "yeah" Ty said with a sigh " what's wrong " I asked concern filling my voice "oh nothing lets just get the horses fed" Ty said sadly " Ty tell me what's bothering you, you can trust me" I begged, Ty turned around sadness in his eyes "Hailey, I missed hanging out with you very much but..." He said walking forward and grabbing my hands " but..." " but ever since that night after the dance when we kissed I just couldn't get you out of my mind, grannet you were always on my mind any way but..." Ty paused "I hid my feelings for so long but after that kiss its been hard and just thinking about going back to being friends and acting like non of this never happened I dont think I can hid it any longer, Hailey, I love you and I cant just stand here and see you every day and not get to hold you in my arms" Ty finished. We stared into each others eyes for a bit when I finally broke the silence "Ty I love you too more then anything in the world" I said and I got up on my tip toes and kissed him. Ty lend in and deepened the kiss and in that moment I felt free, freer then I had ever felt before but  that moment had to came to an end  and when we pulled away we just stood there, our foreheads against each others smiling somewhat breathless " we should probably get back to work" I said "yeah, your probably right" Ty chuckled. Niether of us moved for some time then Ty let go of my waist and went to get back to work but I grabbed his arm and kissed him brefily on the lips then we went to work.
