Chapter 35

Hailey

I sat at the table and talked while Amy cooked. I had thought about going and watching TV with Ty but didn't want Amy to get mad that I left. So I just sat there listening to Amy talk and watching her cook.

"alright, dinners done" Amy said abut a half hour later "Come eat" she called. I stood up to help but Amy just shook her head so I sat back down.

 Ty walked in a minute later and sat next to me. I looked up at him and smiled, he smiled back. Then I noticed that he seemed confused about something. I gave him a confused look. "whats wrong?" I asked "nothing" he said shaking his head. I looked at him with an 'are you sure' face.Ty nodded and placed his hand on my leg.

I looked to his hand then back up at him. He smiled and nodded again. I smiled and put my hand over his. I nodded then took my hand away. Ty took his hand back just as Papa walked in and sat down. Amy started serving the food and we prayed then started eating.

After dinner Ty left, he still wore a confused expression. 'did he happen to hear mine and Amy's conversation?' I thought 'maybe that's why he's so confused' I laughed inside at the thought 'that would make sense.'

Once Ty left I said 'good night' to Amy and Papa then went to bed still laughing at Ty in my head. 'If he can't figure out what I meant I'll tell him,but only if he asks, I want to see if he can figure it out' I thought with a smirk.

I woke up early the next morning feeling well rested and unusually cheery. "good morning" I said happily when I got down stairs. "good morning, you sure are happy this morning" Amy said from her post at the sink. "yep" "well why is that, your almost never this happy in the morning, especially lately" "I know, but I feel like today if gonna be different, Today is gonna be a great day" "you sure?" "yep I can feel it" "alright, then do you mind doing the dishes well get breakfast started?" Amy asked "sure" I said smiling. 

"good morning" I said brightly when Papa walked in. "good morning too you, you seem extra cheery this morning" "yep" "how come?" "I asked the same thing" Amy said "I just woke up with this feeling like today is gonna be great" "well that's good cuz you have been really depressed lately so it's nice to see you so happy" "thanks Papa" "not problem, now when is breakfast gonna be done?" Papa asked rubbing his stomach "I'm starving" "in about twenty minutes" "alright then I'm gonna go take a shower" "ok." Papa turned around and walked back up stairs.  

I finished the dishes a couple minutes later. "ok the dishes are done" I said drying my hand with the the towel next to the sink. "great" Amy said "I think I'm gonna go see Nexus and feed the horses" "alright just be careful and don't do to much with your arm" "I won't." I put the towel back on the hook and pulled on my boots. Then headed out to the barn to feed the horses.

When I got out there I filled the wheel barrel with hay and went around filling the hay boxes. When I got to Nexus's stall he was sitting up, not standing but also not laying on his side like he was yesterday which was good. "morning Nexus your looking good today" I said, Nexus's ear twitched slightly but that was the only movement. "ok boy I understand if you don't feel like moving right now so I'm just gonna fill your hay and you can eat when ever." I filled his box and left.

I brought the wheel barrel to the feed room when I was finished and locked the door. Then I heard the sound of tires on the gravel drive. 

I quickly ran out of the barn and saw Ty walking toward the house. I ran back into the barn just to check on Nexus then headed back to the house.
