Amy and I rode through the forest searching for any sign of Hailey. We had been looking for hours with no luck. "maybe we should head back, it's getting dark" Amy said from behind me "no, we have to find her" "Ty, you won't be able to see anything once it gets dark then how are you gonna find her?" I sighed, she was right I wouldn't be able to find Hailey if I couldn't see "fine." I turned Griffin around and headed back toward the house, Amy following behind.
I spent the night at Hailey's and at first light I headed out to look for Hailey. I didn't come back until dinner. "how was the search?" Jacob asked when I sat down at the table "no luck, there isn't any sign of Hailey anywhere in that forest, at least not that I can see" "well we'll have to look again tomorrow, but for now you need to eat" Amy said placing a plate of food in front of me. "Amy's right you haven't eaten since yesterday morning" "I know but I just can eat knowing Hailey's out there alone who knows what has happened to her" "I know your worried Ty but you need to eat, Hailey wouldn't want you starving yourself because of her" Jacob said placing his hand on my shoulder. I nodded and picked up my fork and taking a bit of the food.
After searching for days with no luck I went home. "I'll call you if anything comes up" Amy said as I started the truck "alright" I said and pulled out of the drive. Two day after I go a call from Amy. "you need to get down here now" she said frantically "what ,why, whats wrong?" "I can't tell you now you just need to get down here now" "bu.." "now" "alright." I threw on jeans and a T-shirt. Ran down the stairs grabbing my hat on the way out the door and jumped in the truck.
I got to the ranch 20 minutes later. I ran inside. Amy was sitting at the table crying and Jacob was standing behind her holding her. He had tears in his eyes as well. Amy looked up at me with fear in her eyes. She didn't say anything, just handed me a piece of paper. I read what was written on it.
Amy, we have Hailey and if you ever want to see her again, you will bring the deed to 430 Mainland, drive, Houston, TX by Monday.You will come alone. If we see anyone else we'll kill her. If you don't bring the deed we will sell her. As long as you do as we say no harm will come to Hailey. Hope to see you soon.

My heart stopped. "They have Hailey" Amy said, she had finally calmed down a bit but tears were still falling from her eyes. I felt tears running down my cheeks. "what are gonna do?" I asked "the only thing we can do, I have to bring them the deed" "what, no" "I have too, you read the letter, if I don't they'll sell her for sex trafficking" "then I'll come with" "no, they'll kill her if any one else comes" "but you can't go alone" "we have no choice, if we want Hailey back without a bullet in her head, I'll have to go alone." I sighed "but there has to be another way" "no there isn't" "what about the police, Malory didn't say and thing about the police" "Ty, you read the letter she said that if anyone else comes they'll kill Hailey" "but... " "Ty, I made my decision and its final" Amy said standing up and walking out of the room.
