Hailey
Ty sat there watching me as I ate. Normally that would be unnerving for me but right now it didn't. In stead of feeling uncomfortable I felt safe and protected under his watch. I turned toward him. He dropped his eyes right away. Like a kid would do when the person they liked caught them staring. I smiled at his shyness, but it dropped right away. "Ty?" he looked up at me "yeah?" "how long have I been out?" "ummmm I don't think you want to know" "Ty," I said gently "please tell me, I want to know." he sighed " 2 months" he said dropping his gaze again. I froze.' Had really been gone for 2 months, it feels like it only been a couple hours' I thought. I shook away the daunting thoughts and focused back on Ty. "ok, well where's papa and Amy?" I asked. Ty looked back up at me "oh uh they went home quick to get some clean clothes." "oh ok." We sat there quietly thinking about what's happened. I wasn't done with my food and I was still super thirsty so I grabbed the glass and drank the whole thing then grabbed an orange.
Once I finished my food the doctor came in and made Ty leave. Even tho I didn't want him to I did make a deal with the doctor that Ty had to leave after I finished eating. The doctor checked my vitals and asked me questions like 'on a scale of one to ten, how much pain are you in?' He asked if I remembered anything from before I was shot. I told him I did but that I didn't want to talk about it. He left after and Amy and Papa came in. Amy rushed over to the bed, she didn't hug me like I thought she would, she just sat down and held my hand. Tears were running down her face as she looked at me. After awhile she moved so Papa could sit. The whole time not one of us spoke.
A week had passed and I was still in the hospital. They wouldn't let me leave because I had gone so long with out proper food and water that they needed to monitor me and make sure I was getting the proper nutrition, but I wasn't connected to a bunch of machines anymore so that was a plus. What was bad was that I hadn't seen Ty all week. He didn't come visit or anything, and I have no idea why.
I was finally aloud to go home the following Monday. I was soooooo happy to get out of that hospital, but I was told that I couldn't do anything with the horses, so that meant staying in the house doing nothing. Again. As long as I'm out of that hospital I don't care if I couldn't care for them.
When we got home I went straight to my bed and fell a sleep. It was late and hospital beds aren't the most comfortable.
I ran down the dark hall. I could hear someone running after me and I ran faster. turning down another hall. I ran as fast as I could. Soon I came to a dead end, I looked around. I tried the two doors that were on either side but they were locked. I heard the steps behind me. I turned and placed my back to the wall. James was walking toward me, gun in hand. "Get away, no stay away" I screamed. He didn't listen. When he was only feet away from me he raised the gun. The gun shot rang out.
I sat bolt upright in bed. I was sweating and tears were streaming out of my eyes. I looked around terrified. I realized I was in my own bed but that didn't calm my nerves.
