A Country Girl.

chapter 6

Ty and me worked through out the morning " Hailey, Ty lunch is ready" Amy called " coming" I yelled back walking to the back of the barn to get Ty. "Hey Amy said its time for lunch" I said walking up to Ty " alright" he said standing up and grabbing my hand "lets go" "ok" I said my face growing warm, Ty chuckled and said " you know your cute when you blush" which made me blush more " come on I'm starving" he said smiling. Still holding hands we walked to the house " what took you so long?" Amy asked when we walked in " sorry but we were working" I said " ok, but I said to..." Amy started turning around and seeing me and th holding hands " ooooo, what's going on here?" She asked looking between us " nothing" my face turning red and snatching my hand from Ty's " oh really?" Amy said sitting at the table " yes, now can we eat?" I said irritated and embarrassed sitting down " of course here" she said handing a bowl to me, she looked confused and concerned but at the moment I didn't care. I took the bowl as Ty sat next to me, we were having sandwiches and salad for lunch, Amy passed me the salad bowl and I handed it to Ty " can you pass the dressing please Ty?" I asked "sure" he said handing it to me, I could hear the hurt in his voice, so I avoid looking him in the eye " thanks" I said, after that lunch continued on in silence.

After lunch Ty and I had to go check the fence so we went out to the barn to get our horses " so you want to hang out later and watch a movie or something?" I asked as we lead the  horses out of the barn, he didn't answer, " hey what's up?" again nothing " Hey Ty what's wrong?"  I asked grabbing his arm somewhat worried " don't act like you don't know" he said with a snarl snatching  his arm back and mounting Griffin then riding off. I stood there for a minute that was unexpected I thought to myself then mounted blue.  The next few hours were quiet between Ty and me which gave me time to think of what could of made Ty upset. "Ty wait" I said running up behind him "what" he answered, irritation filling his voice "tell me what's wrong please, I hate seeing you up set and friends are supposed to tell each other everything" "you should know" he said anger and hurt filling his voice "but I don't, Ty please we finally get to see each other after weeks and now your mad at me please just tell me" I begged holding back my tears " Really you don't know what's wrong well why don't you stop and think for a minute then maybe you'll know" he said the hurt leaving his voice and being replaced by anger " I don't know Ty please just tell me" "fine I'll tell you" he said walking up to me "you lied" "what how?"  I asked confused "REALLY HAILEY! Stop acting like your dumb do you not remember what happened at lunch?" He yelled "I'm not acting dumb I genuinely don't know why your upset or how I lied to you and what does that have to do with anything?" I yelled back my past sadness replaced by anger "you told Amy or really what you didn't tell her at lunch" "well I'm sorry but I didn't think it was that big a deal since we aren't really together and that still doesnt tell me how I lied" I said my anger rising "well I certainly thought it as a big deal and you lied when you told me you loved me" he said  immediately realizing his mistake "wait Hailey I didn't mean it that way" he tried but it was to late, his words fell on deaf ears, the damage was done. I took off, all anger dissipating replaced by over whelming saddens and betrayal, tears streaming down my face as my feet pounded the ground. "Hailey please" Ty yelled behind me, but again I heard nothing but the pounding of my feet, I didnt know where I was going I just knew I needed to get away now.
