Chapter 34

Ty

Hailey looked up at me with a confused look and I shrugged then left the two in the kitchen.I walked to the living room. 'wait, Hailey can't cook' I thought turning back to the kitchen.

I could hear Hailey and Amy talking so I stood just outside the doorway. "what?" Hailey asked "so are you gonna tell me about you and Ty?" Amy said.

'what are they talking about?'

"what are you talking about?" "really, don't play dumb, why haven't you told me you and Ty?"

'tell her what about us?'

"I'm not playing dumb I really don't know what your talking about" "really Hailey, you didn't think to tell me you and Ty made up and are finally dating?"

'ohhhh'

"no and we aren't dating, at least not yet." Hailey said lowering her voice a bit.

'what?'

"well you should of still told me" Amy said "alright, now what do you want me to help with?" "nothing you suck at cooking just sit there" Amy said.

I walked back to the living room still thinking about the conversation. 'what made Amy think we were dating? and why did Hailey say we weren't?' I sat on the couch still mulling over the same questions. I couldn't figure out an answer to either question so I gave up and turned on the TV.

I was able to watched an episode of a crime show I didn't know the name of before dinner was done. "come eat" Amy called. I walked to the kitchen and sat next to Hailey. She smiled up at me and smiled back.

I was still confused about the conversation and I guess it showed on my face cuz Hailey gave my a confused look. "whats wrong?" she asked "nothing" I said shaking my head. Hailey looked at my with a 'are you sure' face. I nodded and placed my hand on her leg. 

She looked to my hand then back to me. I smiled and nodded again. She smiled and put her hand on mine. Hailey nodded then took her hand away. I took my hand back just as Jacob walked in and sat down. Amy started serving the food and we prayed then started eating.

After dinner I left and went home. I was still trying to figure out what Hailey meant when she said we weren't dating. "I thought we were" I said to myself. "why would she think we weren't?" I couldn't figure it out.

When I got home Mom was sitting on the couch watching TV. "Hey mom, I'm home" I said walking into the living room. "oh, hey honey, how was work?" "good" I said sitting next to her "did you see Hailey today?" "yeah" "how is she?" "shes fine" "that's good" "anything else happen?" "we got a new horse" "really? whats his name and where did he come from?" "his name is Nexus, and he came from the same place Hailey was" "really? that strange" "yeah and it turns out that he's Peaches foal, Hailey had found them when she ran away" "wow that's amazing, how is he?" "not so good, when the shelter found him he was pretty much dead, and he still isn't doing good, he can barely stand on his own. We ended up having to carry him from the trailer to the barn." "oh dear, how did Hailey take it?" " not very good, she was the one  to recognize him and once she did she fell apart" "I feel so sorry for the girl, shes been through so much in her life and more just keeps coming" "yeah but she's strong, she make it" "you are right Ty, especially with you to fight along side her." Mom smiled at me and I smiled back "well I'm going to bed, so good night, I love you" I said "love you too baby, good night."
