Chapter 54

Hailey

Ty and I walked quietly, hand in hand along the fence. We stopped outside patches enclosure and stood there a minute in silence. A cool breeze blew past causing me to shiver. I zipped my jacket up as high as it would go and rubbed my arms trying to gain a little warmth. Ty wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I cuddled close, thankful for the warmth.

"Its crazy. How fast this year has gone" he said a few minutes later "yeah, it feels like just a couple days ago we were fighting and arguing, and now here we are" I said looking up at him and kissing his cheek, he smiled down at me and kissed the top of my head. I could tell he was thinking about something, but what I did not know. "Yeah...." He paused a second before continuing "Hailey?" "Yeah?" "I love you. More then anything, I want you to know that" I looked at him confused and a little concerned "I love you too" I said tenderly. We stood there for a few more minutes before Amy called us to come eat.

"Hey" I said as we walked toward the house "I was thinking I might start work again tomorrow" "really? are you sure your ready?" "I think so, but I'll never know unless I try" he smiled at me fondly "Alright, as long as you think your ready." When we got inside Amy and Papa were already sitting at the table. "about time" Amy said " now sit down so we can eat." I laughed quietly to myself as I kicked off my boots and hung my jacket on the hooks by the door. We sat down and Papa said grace, we all ate and talked, and when everyone was finished Ty and I collected the dishes and placed them in the sink for us to washed.

I stood at the sink washing the dishes as Ty dried and put them away. I thought about how Ty acted earlier, I was confused and scared. "Ty?" I said quietly " Yeah?" "Are you ok?" "what do you mean?" "earlier, you just seemed troubled" he didn't say anything for awhile but eventually he spoke "I was just thinking about stuff but its nothing important" I didn't really believe him but I went along with it "alright but I just want to tell you that if you need to talk I'm here" he nodded smiling "I know." Ty put the last of the dishes away then we went to the living room to watch a movie. "so what do you want to watch?" I asked "I don't know, what do you want to watch?" I rolled me eyes "I don't know. that's why I asked you" "alright fine, how about.... Lion king?" "Really? Are you sure you want to watch that?" "I thought you didn't care" he said with a smirk, I glared at him from my spot on the couch "I don't" "alright then we are watching this" "alright."

Ty put the disk in the player and came to sit next to me. When the movie started I moved closer and laid my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me pulling me close.
