Chapter 62

Ty

We decided to walk instead of ride so we wouldnt lose the trail. It was nice being out there with Hailey.

We walked side by side quietly. I would of thought it a bit romantic if we werent looking for patches. ' maybe I can bring her back here for a picnic? ' I nodded to myself smiling. Hailey looked at me weird, "what are you nodding for?" "Oh nothing." She cocked her head at me "what?" I said defensively, she just shook her head "weirdo" "your a weirdo too" "I never said I wasn't." I rolled my eyes taking her free hand and kissing the back of it. "I love you" "I love you too."

We walked for maybe an hour before we heard something. "Did you hear that?" Hailey asked "yeah." She smiled letting go of Majesty and ran to the top of the hill. I followed stopping next to her at the top. You could see quite a bit from here. Hailey's eyes searched the wide open field b looking for what had made the sound we heard.

When she found nothing her smile fell. She crashed to the ground, crying silently. I knelt down next to her and pulled her close "dont worry, we'll find him" she nodded wipping her eyes. She laid there for a second before standing. She brought her hand to her lips and blew a long musical note. The horses at the bottom of the hill perked up at the call and came running up to us.

I stood and waited for the horses to get there. It didn't take long. Once they reached Hailey and I they stopped. But the sound of pounding hooves continued. I looked to Hailey, who seemed just as confused as me. We turned and out of the trees came Patches. Responding to Hailey's whistle, she hadn't even taught him that yet. but here he came, running straight toward us like he knew we were looking for him. I could see the pure joy in Hailey's face when she saw him.

When Patches reached the top of the hill, he stopped, stretching his nose out to nuzzle Hailey. She giggled and hugged him. He jumped at the sudden embrace but he didn't move otherwise. "Hey buddy" he said into Patches neck "I'm glad your not mad at me." she pulled away, smiling at Patches "lets go home." he snorted and followed Hailey as she made her way down.

Once we reached the forest edge Hailey mounted Patches and I Griffin. We rode through the forest, Majesty following loyally behind.

It was almost dark when we got back. I brought Majesty and Griffin back to the barn as Hailey turned Patches back out to his paddock.

After dinner Hailey and I went out to sit on the front porch. It had started raining again and the sound of it hitting the roof was calming. Hailey laid on my shoulder staring out at the driveway. I smiled and wrapping my arm around her, pulling her closer.

We sat in silence for a bit, before Hailey sat up and looked at me. "Ty" she said, her tone made my heart raced, it sounded like she had bad news or something. "Yeah?" I said kinda scared. "Thanks" I looked at her confused, "for what?" "For everything, taking care of me when I wasn't myself, helpinh search for Peaches, Nexus, and Patches when they went missing." She paused "for loving me no matter how broken I am."

Tears welled up in Hailey's eyes as she spoke. I stood and held out my hand, she looked at me confused but took me hand. I pulled her off the bench, took both her hands in mine and stared at her. "Hailey, there is no need to thank me for any of that. I will always love you with all my heart. And I did that stuff because I love you, not matter what I will protect you, I will fight for you. I'm gonna be with you as long as I live." Hailey smiled, I smiled back and pulled her close. "Sorry but your stuck with me" I said kissing her. She melted into my arms. When she pulled away we were both breathing heavily. "I love you" Hailey said in a soft whisper "I love you too. Always." I stared into her eyes for a few seconds, then I remembered something "hold on" I said running out to my truck and grabbing a small box out of the glove compartment. I ran back and stood in front of Hailey. "What is it?" She asked, I smiled and handed her the box. When she opened it her eyes lit up, she pulled out the diamond necklace from my mom and looked at me in complete shock "Ty, it's beautiful but where did you get it?" "My mom gave it to me to give to you. It was a gift to her from my father on there anniversary one year." Hailey looked at the necklace, put it back in the box and handed it back to me "then I cant take it" I shook my head and took the necklace out. "Hailey, it was a gift from my dad to my mom as a symbol of there love.." I walked behind her placing the necklace around her neck "and now it's a symbol of my love for you, and a promise that I will always be with you" Hailey turned to face me, smirking "you sure you want to do that, I can be a bit of a hand full?" I smirked back "most definitely." She nodded kissing me quickly before walking back inside. ' man I love you.'

Sorry for the wait, I was lazy and busy with school but here is the last chapter of this book. I know it's a bit weird but I honestly had no idea on how to finish the book, so I just did what ever, if it's not what you expected or wanted I'm sorry I'm not very good at endings. It really didnt turn out the way I wanted it to either but it needed to end so.

Anyway now that that's done what did you think? I know I havent done a whole lot of Authors notes and when I did none read it but I obviously dont really care cuz I still try. Well I have nothing else to say so byyyyyyy!
