It took Terra a long time to open her eyes when she woke up. She winced against the light in the room, already dimmed to its lowest setting. She went to move when light hands pushed her back down.

"Don't sit up, you'll only make it worse."

Terra's eyes focused on the girl leaning over her, her face framed by a mass of curls. After a moment, Terra let herself drop back to the pillows.

"I'm glad you're awake, it's been a couple of days. I'm Jessie, I've been here watching you. Watching out for you I mean, I wasn't just sitting here. I had a book and...well you probably knew what I meant." Jessie glanced away after her ramble and her cheeks went red, but she brought her attention back to her patient.

Terra let out a small groan of pain but nodded and coughed. Jessie brought water to her lips and helped her drink. "Thanks. Where is...where are we?"

"We just call it the Manor, this is where our pack lives. You remember what happened, right?" Jessie sat back in the chair again, a wide smile on her face as she spoke and it only grew wider when Terra nodded. "Your Sire has been pretty worried. I'll let him explain more I guess..."

"You're up." The greeting came from the door as Jason joined them in the room. "How are you feeling?" Leaving the door somewhat open behind him, he made his way over to the bed and set his bag onto the bedside table.

"Exhausted," Terra answered immediately. "Everything hurts, and I feel like I haven't eaten anything in weeks."

"Jason's the one that has actually been taking care of you," Jessie said. "He stabilized you and kept you that way."

"You did a lot as well, Jessie." Jason pulled a small packet out of his bag and poured it into a water bottle he had brought with him. Once it was fully diluted, he handed it over to Terra. "Drink it slowly for the next hour or so. We'll try getting you something light to eat later on tonight but for now this should help with any hunger. I'm glad to see you up. You're already looking well."

Terra sipped from the bottle, making a face at it. "Yeah, considering the circumstances." She glanced towards the door and ran a hand through her hair. "Where is my -what did you call him- Sire? Since I didn't die, did he just give up and leave me here?"

Jessie gave a small laugh. "After what I saw, I don't think he would abandon you."

"It's hard to see past his wall," Jason said. "He puts on a pretty good mask but he really does care. Especially for members of his pack." He looked up at Terra from his bag. "He was standing in the hall when I came in."

Terra took a slow breath and leaned over to set the bottle on her nightstand. "I don't really care in the end. If you could see if he brought my stuff though... I might need it."

"We'll look into your belongings," Jason said with a nod. He placed a small pill bottle on the bedside table and pulled his bag back beneath his arm. "It's possible for your wolf to resurface at times, especially as your senses start to develop. If you should need it, these will at least calm the transition a little. Take only one at a time." Jason started toward the door and gave a dismissive nod to Jessie. "Keep an ear out for her if she needs anything."

"I'm a couple rooms down," Jessie said just as Jason closed the door behind him. "Don't get up unless you have to, but if you feel strong enough later, we can take a look around."

Terra nodded in responce and Jessie grinned at her then skipped out of the room. Once she was gone, Terra collapsed onto the pillows, closing her eyes. Without her sketchbook next to her, she felt anxious and quickly bored in the room.

She eyed the bottle and picked it up, turned it in her fingers to let the light shine through it. She turned her head to the door and waited, almost expecting another 'wolf' to burst through. When none did, she sighed and curled up on the bed again, already exhausted.
