The house had awoken with the morning and there were constant murmurings against the scent of a Hunter. Though Terra and Jake went to the wolves to explain no harm would come from the Hunter in their midst, they were still met with a few hostilities. Eventually, Jessie went around to those she deemed needed medical attention, and the Healer's presence managed to calm a few of them down.

Inside the room, Brit had curled on her bed beside Dominic, and even in her sleep was careful not to disrupt him. Still, she had a hand resting against him at all times. The door was pushed open by Jake with a plate of food for her, and she gave him a weary smile as he put it down. "Thanks," she murmured.

"I know what it's like. If you need anything, just ask." Jake watched Dominic and stayed near the wall. Not bothered by the Beta's lingering presence, Brit managed to eat a little, though had turned her attention back to Dominic.

The Hunter had begun to stir a bit and fully woke. At the unfamiliar room, a hand went out on instinct for a weapon that wasn't with him. Instead, his hand found Brit's and he calmed, even at the sight of the Beta in the room.

She immediately dropped her fork to place a hand against his forehead. "Hey," she murmured. "Are you hungry? Or...do you need any water?"

"No," Dominic said softly, just to her. "I'm okay. Don't worry." With that, he tried to mask a dizzying pain as he pushed himself up a bit more from the bed. He managed only a slumped sitting position, one that didn't disturb the bandage and patch work that had been done around his chest. His gaze found Jake again and he shoved away whatever pain leaked through on his face. "How are the Cell wolves coping?"

The Beta sighed and listened for a moment before he shook his head. "It's slow going. They barely trust us, let alone the Hunters. Their Alpha certainly isn't helping much. She's very protective of them all."

"I don't blame them," Brit said. She lifted the glass of water from her side-table and offered it to Dominic anyway.

He accepted, but settled for holding the glass with both hands. "It will take some getting used to for them," Dominic said. "For a lot of them, the Lab is all they've ever known."

Jake set his lips into a fine line as he watched the Hunter's movements. "Did you work closely with them? In liberating them, I mean, as a Hunter in the field."

"No," Dominic admitted. "Trench and I aided in finding some homes. Checking up on freed ones after. That's my job as a Field Hunter. Taking care of problem wolves. Keeping tabs on the good ones."

"That's too bad, I might have liked you better." Jake flashed the Hunter a grin, a joke hiding behind his words.

"How did you even know about them?" Brit asked with a tip of her head. "Or...how did you find out?"

"The Labs are a separate organization from the Compounds, but we knew they existed." Dominic actually looked away from both wolves for a moment until his gaze found Brit again. "We just didn't know what exactly they were doing... this isn't the first time this Compound has worked with a wolf. She was the one who really brought this Compound to finally do something about the Labs."
