The truck sped off the main road and headed into a restricted area. Terra's hands were tightened around her seatbelt, her gaze constantly going to the mirror and the wolves that sat in the bed. She shifted the makeshift bandage around her shoulder that Jessie had given her when they'd pulled over, for just a moment. More would have to be done when they arrived. "Terra," Jake ventured, yet again, from the backseat. "I don't want to hear it," she said, barely managing to keep her voice calm. "We have nowhere else to go." The Alpha's gaze switched to Dominic at the wheel.
"You're welcome to sit out," the Hunter said. He hardly looked to any of the wolves since their stop, but now met Terra's glance. "You at least need to meet them."
"I will have my Beta with me," Terra said, without leaving room for argument. "Jessie needs to treat everyone else, but with both of us gone..." She paused a moment and released a small sigh. "As long as we are not gone long."
"They won't be any happier about this," Dominic reminded and simply kept his gaze ahead. The road cut on through the forest, steadily climbing a gentle slope until it gave completely to an open field, with a vast building awaiting. It was far larger than the Manor and seemed made up of a few buildings the closer they got. Trucks and vans alike were parked outside, and a few people lingered around one, observing, even from the distance, as Dominic's truck approached.
Terra sat up a little straighter in the front seat, and when they rolled to a stop, she turned back around. Brit and Wren were squished together beside Jake, with Wren in the middle. Terra's face softened as she looked them over. "Just sit tight, okay? Jessie will make sure everyone is alright while we get things situated." Jake opened the door first and slammed it hard, leaving Wren to cuddle up into Brit.
Dominic spared the two in a back just a quick glimpse before he merely slid from his truck as well. A few Hunters ahead straightened, but he approached them before any could move. In the bed of the truck, Lynea craned around and jerked her chin at Terra when the Alpha emerged. "So we just sit on our hands then like good dogs?"
