Only two lonely folding chairs occupied the back deck that lead off from the kitchen. Lynea claimed one of them as she watched Jrasic and Wren out in the yard before the forest. He promised he wasn't teaching Wren to fight, and instead the two seemed to be simply talking. Wren was nodding most of the time and occasionally shooting glances to places Jrasic pointed to - places to hide, just in case.

Terra opened the back door and propped it open as she stood beside Lynea's chair. "Well," she said with a small smile. "I certainly don't want to interrupt those two."

"They're just going over precautions," Lynea said and watched as the little boy summoned a shift all on his own and landed as a tiny brown pup. "Wren's never fought before and he shouldn't have to. But if things go south..."

"It's better than not having a plan," Terra finished. She watched Wren and let out a long sigh. "There's a good chance it will go south. Do you have anywhere for him to go?"

Lynea shook her head slowly. "Jrasic and I are all the kid's got," she said. "So far the plan is to teach him how to hide and when he can tell to come back out but..." Lynea looked out to the forest instead. "Jrasic wants to teach him how to survive as a wolf only. To keep that form and live that way. In case something happens to either of us. Or you for that matter."

Terra gave a slow nod and glanced to Lynea. "It's a good skill to learn. For any wolf, I guess."

"It's definitely no way to live," Lynea said. "Not that I've done it, but I can only imagine from the stories Jrasic's told."

Out in the yard, Wren dashed off to find places to hide that were just small enough to tuck himself into. Jrasic made a point of not looking and instead his gaze found Terra, the faintest smile tugging at the corner of his lip.

Terra wiggled her fingers at him and smiled. "I just hope he won't have to," she said to Lynea. Terra flashed the older wolf a half smile before she hurried down the steps and out into the grass.

"Everything okay?" Jrasic said as she drew closer. He glanced away to scan the yard, finding no visual trace of Wren.

"Just fine," she said shortly and followed his gaze. Terra stopped beside him and her smile grew. "He's pretty good."

Jrasic shrugged, watching the tree line. "Fortunately yes," he said but then nodded to where a small, brown tail tip poked out from the foliage. "But he still has a lot to learn."

Terra found herself laughing even so and stepped closer to the tree line. "Hey Wren," she said when she was close enough. "Do you think I could have a go with training?"

Wren peeked back out, casually panting. He bounded out of hiding and dashed right between Jrasic and Terra as he went back over to Lynea.

Terra watched him go and laughed again before she turned to Jrasic. "So, training?" she asked stepping up close to him.
