Jimin just walked into Yoongi's house upon his arrival, as per usual. He entered the apartment to find Hoseok sitting on the couch playing video games, of course, and Yoongi in the kitchen. It looked like he was cleaning.

The apartment was noticeably cleaner than usual. Not that it was dirty by any means, but it's usually a little more messy. The apartment also smelled of a floral and citrusy scent, from what Jimin assumed was some kind of scented cleaner.

He closed the door and decided to keep his shoes on as he didn't want to look like he was lounging around in Yoongi's apartment as his family showed up.

"Hey! Jimin!" Yoongi called from the kitchen and threw away the bleach wipe he was using to wipe down the counter.

Hoseok looked in the direction of the door, and greeted him the same way Yoongi had, clearly too wrapped up in his game to greet him properly.

"Hey." Jimin smiled. Yoongi was walking toward Jimin to greet him. "Um, this is for you." Jimin awkwardly held out the wrapped present that had the card attached to it. He felt like a child giving a birthday present to his friend. He realized now that maybe wrapping it was too juvenile for a 22 year old's birthday. He was a little embarrassed.

Yoongi, on the other hand was delighted and grateful that Jimin had not only gotten a gift but also taken the time to wrap his present for him. It was a really sweet gesture, although Yoongi felt a tad guilty. He didn't want Jimin to think he had to get him something, that's not why he invited him.

He smiled and took the gift from Jimin.

"Oh, wow. Thanks, dude. You really didn't have to get me anything, but thank you!" And just as he finished his sentence, Yoongi pull Jimin in for a hug that seemed like not a big deal. However, it was one of those awkward side hugs, the ones where no one really knows what to do or how to move their body.

Yoongi pulled away as he didn't even think about Jimin's personal space and the possibility of him being uncomfortable. He scratched the back of his neck, instantly regretting it.

Jimin didn't mind though. Even though it was a little awkward, it felt sincere like Yoongi was really grateful.

Once the boys were detached from each other, Jimin ran his fingers through his hair and Yoongi's lips formed into the smallest smile possible so Jimin wouldn't notice.

"Oh it was nothing, don't worry. Happy birthday!" Jimin smiled.

"Thanks again, dude. So, Jackass over there is too busy in his game over there and I'm gonna finish cleaning before my family gets here. There's a bunch of snacks on the table and drinks in the fridge. I don't know if you drink but there's beer and Mike's Hard Lemonade and if not there's also soda and water and stuff. Obviously you can help yourself and if you wanna just chill here that's cool." Yoongi pointed to the table when he mentioned snacks and then the fridge when he mentioned the drinks.

Jimin turned his head to look at the table that was absolutely filled with snacks. He was nervous, but was surprisingly okay for the most part. He just wasn't going to have any snacks and would wait to see what there was to eat for dinner.

"Okay, thanks! Um, do you need any help cleaning or anything?" Jimin wanted to immediately retract his statement because why would he even ask that? In his head he thought he was being polite, but it just came out weird.

Quite honestly, this entire conversation was just one big awkward moment and neither one of the boys were making it any better. One awkward moment right after the other.
