It was finally the day that Jimin had been waiting for, Friday.
He was eager to get to his brother's house so the second he was able to leave, he hauled his overnight/weekend duffle bag into his car and left.
Both of his parents were still at work, which he wasn't upset about because he knew his mom would pester him with questions before he left.
He texted both of them saying he was on his way and would text them when he got there, but other than that, he fully intended on talking only to his brother and his brother's girlfriend the entire weekend.
He put on his relaxing music playlist and started on the road.
It was a long drive, about an hour and a half to an hour and forty-five minutes depending on the traffic. Sometimes he could cut it down to an hour and fifteen minutes, but it was late Friday afternoon so the chances of cutting it down were slim. He didn't care in the slightest, though. He didn't care how long it took, he just wanted to see his brother tonight.
He wish he could go more often. But it's hard because his brother works from Monday- Saturday mornings and sometimes on Sunday if they really need him at the firm. His girlfriend works Monday-Friday so he really could go up and just hang out with her most of the weekend, but he doesn't want to disturb his brother's work schedule and if he's driving all that way there and back he wants to spend time with his brother for as long as he can. He tries to go at least once a month, and he usually does, but he wants to go more.
During the drive, he tried to quiet his mind as much as he could. He spent the entire weekend with his mind occupied with a million different things. His exam grade, his future exam grades, Taehyung, Yoongi, and everything in between. He didn't want to think about anyone or anything, he wanted to just relax and be with his family.
He got stuck in traffic, which is what he expected. It took him about 2 hours to get there, which wasn't as bad as he thought he was going to be.
He pulled up to the driveway to find his brother sitting on one of the chairs on the front porch with his two dogs laying by his side.
Their parents wouldn't let them have pets when they were younger. Jimin and his brother begged every single year for a pet, a dog, even a cat, but their parents would never budge. Pets were dirty in their mind and they didn't want to be the ones to be stuck taking care of them when Jimin and Ji-Hyun got tired of them. Jimin had always promised that that would never happen, but it never worked. So the first thing Ji-Hyun did when he moved out was get a dog with his girlfriend. She already had a dog so they adopted another one when they moved in together. His brother promised Jimin that can get his own pet when he moves in with him. A dog, a cat, whatever he wants, as long as Jennie is okay with it. It sounds childish, but Jimin has never had one so he's excited about it.
Once Jimin parks the car his brother gets off the porch and starts walking towards him. The dogs follow, as they are very well trained. Jimin turns the car off and gets out. He's first greeted by the dogs in which he bends down and gives an equal amount attention to both. Then he stands up and hugs his brother, which turns out to be a very much needed hug by the both of them.
"How was the drive?" Ji-Hyun asked as they broke off the hug.
"Not too bad. There was a little bit of traffic, but not that much." Jimin replied as he opened the backseat to get his stuff.
"Good. Here, let me take that." His brother reaches his hand out and takes the bag from Jimin's arm.
"Thanks."
"Of course. Now let's go inside, Jennie's cooking right now." Ji-Hyun points his head toward the door and Jimin turns to follow as well as the dogs.
