It was two days after Christmas. Two days after Yoongi gave Jimin the promise ring. Two days after Jimin assured both of them that he was going to tell his parents about them dating. He had to. They hadn't seen the ring yet, he's been hiding it. The only times he's taken it off was to shower. He said he didn't care if they saw, but he did. He didn't want them to find out that way, he'd rather tell them himself so he'd be prepared.

He couldn't do it the day before because he'd gone to his brother's house for the night after spending the night with Yoongi, so he waited until he got back. And he got back just before dinner. He was going to tell them after dinner. Or during dinner. One or the other, but it was going to happen today regardless of how or when it would happen.

He was anxious the entire day. He felt so sick, so worried. He was thinking of the worst possible scenarios, some he didn't even want to bring himself to think of in the first place. Hopefully their reaction would be less worse than the scenarios he'd thought of so he'd be prepared. But he didn't know. He didn't know how they would react. It could go okay or it could go really bad. He didn't think things would go smoothly, he knew his parents. But hopefully they've grown a little bit and had become a little more accepting and understanding. He didn't know. He hoped for the best, but expected the worst.

~

They were all sat at the dinner table, him and his parents. He was nervous. His hands were shaking so bad that he could barely pick up a small morsel of food.

"Jimin, are you okay?" His mom asked. "You're a little quieter than usual." Funny of her to say that.

But now was the moment. It was happening. He had to just say it or he never would. He needs to do this for himself and his relationship. They're his parents. They need to understand. They have to.

"Um, actually, I uh..." He started saying. He felt like he was going to throw up. He was terrified. He wishes he was anyone else in any other situation in the entire world than here right now.

Both of his parents looked at him expectantly.

"No, I have to tell you something." He managed to get out, not knowing if the next thing that was going to come out of his mouth was his confession or vomit. He didn't know which one would be worse.

"Okay, what is it?" His mom put down her fork and leaned forward.

"Okay, well. Um, I uh. Please, just listen to me and let me finish. I'm your son and I don't want to hide this anymore. I shouldn't have to. I hope you can accept me and support me."
