"Ugh. I'm sorry." Jimin puts his notecards down and sighs. The boys had just made their notecards for the presentation and they were practicing.
"It's okay, dude. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just take a minute and try it again." Yoongi gives his support to Jimin. As they were practicing, Jimin was making little mistakes that wouldn't have been a big deal to anyone else, but they were a big deal to him. Anyone else probably would've just kept on going, but not Jimin. Yoongi noticed how upset he was and he felt bad because it wasn't that big of a deal.
He took a deep breath and picked up the notecards again. Yoongi nodded, urging him to start when he's ready to start from the beginning. This time he gets through the entirety of what he was planning to say for that slide. He exhales out of relief.
"That was good! You're doing a lot better than you think." Yoongi was trying to encourage him as much as he could. He didn't really care if Jimin made a mistake, everyone's nervous when they present something, it was the fact that it made Jimin so upset when he did make a mistake. It seemed like the end of the world to him and Yoongi was trying to help him understand that it wasn't.
"Thank you." Jimin smiles softly, taking a sip of his water. Yoongi then picked up his notecards and went through the next two slides that were his. "How did you do that without making any mistakes?" Jimin asks.
"I don't know. I just relaxed and I said what I wanted to say. Trust me, I'm no better than you. No one is a pro at this. Just relax and take it slow. We still have a few days, so don't worry too much." Yoongi still felt bad. The kid was terrified, he could tell. He just wishes he would relax a little bit, he was sure if he relaxed then it would be easier.
Jimin scanned his notecard for a few seconds before starting. He spoke slowly, tripping up on his words, but not too noticeably. After he finished he took another breath and spoke.
"I'm sorry I just hate public speaking. And I hate being in groups because I don't want anyone to get a lower grade just because of me." Jimin admitted to Yoongi.
"Seriously Jimin, you're doing great. I'm not worried about that. Literally no one in the class is going to get through the entire presentation without messing up at least once, it's just impossible. I'll probably mess up. It happens. Just keep doing what you're doing. Even if you mess up just keep going, you'll get it." Yoongi smiled.
The motivation seemed to be helping Jimin, even if it was only a little bit. People he's worked in groups with in the past haven't really been that supportive, or even understanding of how he felt about public speaking or working in groups in general. But really, why would they be? They don't really know him. But then again, why is Yoongi? Yoongi doesn't know him. He's still appreciative of how nice Yoongi is to him when he doesn't have to be.
"Want to go through it again?" Yoongi asked after they had finished that long round of practice.
"You don't mind?" Jimin asks, looking at Yoongi with hopeful eyes.
"Not at all, if it'll help you feel a little more comfortable." Yoongi assures him. Jimin was grateful that Yoongi wasn't annoyed with him. He smiled and nodded.

Yoongi had walked into bio the next day, spotting Hoseok in their normal seats. He looked to the back to find Jimin in his normal seat with his hood on and headphones in. He puts his backpack down on the seat next to Hoseok and greets him. Yoongi then makes his way to the back of the room where Jimin is sitting. He stands in front of the table Jimin is sitting at and waits for Jimin to notice him. When he does, he smiles and pulls his hood off while taking one earbud out.
"Hey." Jimin said softly.
"Hey, dude. Do you wanna sit with me and Hoseok?"
"Umm, sure, okay." Jimin nods and gathers his things. He follows Yoongi to their seats and sits down next to him, Hoseok sitting on the other side of Yoongi.
