Kit POV

"I'm going to kick his ass when I see him." I yell walking into Beams office.

Good thing he was in between patients, in my anger I didn't bother to stop and check. It was meant to be a 5-day seminar for doctors, we had surgeries and appointments we couldn't reschedule so he ended up going alone.

"He's reading the damn messages but not answering." Beams angry too.

He's never done this before and it's scaring us. He always tells us his plans, and if he got into trouble we are his first call.

"The seminar was over 12 days ago." I sit with my coffee handing Beam his.

Beam looks tired.

"What's going on?"

"Long day, I had a really strange case." He sips the coffee and leans back in his chair. "And Pring is getting on my last nerve."

"She came to see me twice already." I tell him. "She thinks we are deliberately not telling her where Pha is."

"They are not even dating, she needs to back off." Beams annoyed. "You would think she would have worries of her own."

The hospital was in an uproar, the CEO had retired and the position was coveted by many, the most hopeful was Dr. Prunsaait, Pring's father but the Board of Directors had selected someone else. It could also cause problems for her, she was hoping her father's new position would help her.

This hospital was one of the most prestigious in the country, privately owned and funded but it never turned any patient away. When Pha, Beam and I got the offers to be on the staff, it was a big deal. When Pring applied, she was refused and only because her father was friends with the department head he managed to get her in but only on a temporary contract.

"She just won't give me a break, she even interrupted my appointment with a patient to ask."

"She can get in line, we don't know either." Beam sits up again. "Why would he take a leave of absence? He loves his work."

It was true Pha did, he was so determined nothing would change his mind. And since Pha wanted to do medicine it was a done deal we would too.

"This whole thing feels ... off." I say worried.

"Did he tell you anything else?" Beam watches me carefully as he asks.

I take the cover off the coffee and blow gently, it's not going to cool it but I can't look at him right now.

"I knew it!" He slams his fist on the table. "I knew he told you more than me."

"You overreact some time..."

"When..."

When I give him appointed look he curses, grabbing the cup and drinking the scalding liquid. I wasn't that insane, I take small sips. I take out my phone and send an angry text to Pha, if he didn't text me or call back within the hour I was reporting him missing.

"He met someone." I tell Beam.

"So?" Beam looks at me. "One night is enough, why does he need more time?"

"He could have fallen in love." I tell him.

"That would only happen with you." Beam snickers. "Me and Pha are sane, we don't linger. You're not normal."

"Shut up Beam." I snap. "There's nothing wrong with wanting a meaningful relationship, and I've had a few girlfriends."

"Two."
