CH 13 - Doctor

Phana POV

"It's going to be fine."

"But..."

"I will not be far." He smiles helping with my jacket. "Come to top floor if you need me or call and I can come to you."

I will not accidentally drink someone's blood. I will not accidentally drink someone's blood. I keep chanting as I gather my things and get ready to leave. They annoyed me but I didn't do anything to Beam and Kit, or Yo's brothers but they are vampires to so I don't think I could.

He moves towards the door when his phone vibrates but stops to look at me biting his bottom lip. He wants things I can tell, he's giving me time and space as I asked him, but it's me who can't stay away and came to sleep with him again.

He wants to kiss me, if he bites that lip...I can still taste him on my lips from last night, a little more isn't so bad.

"Have a good day Yo." I give him a quick kiss.

He touches his lips before looking down, but I saw the watery eyes. "You too, Beloved."

He leaves quickly, I want to know things. I'm going to start asking him questions; just a little more time and I won't be able to stop myself wanting to know. I check I have everything, grab my keys and head down, time to get back to work.

I walk around the large table and sit in my chair. Everything in my office was the same, nothing had changed but at the same time, everything was different. I was different. I looked at my coat hanging on the hook, I dreamed of this, I worked for this and I wouldn't let it go now.

"Good morning Doctor Kongtanin, I brought you coffee." The little guy smiles walking in. "Your day's schedule is loaded onto your calendar, I had heart palpitations seeing it, I hope you don't drop before lunch."

"Monty?" I check.

"That's me!" He waves. "Think of me as your new pal, your shoulder to cry on, your Girl Friday." He smiles. "Anything you need let me know and I will make the magic happen ."

The new secretary/assistant Yo arranged for me, he's a Thrall. Yo did explain but I was a little nervous and didn't pay enough attention. It's slow but I smell it, the change in my room. It's different but...familiar?

"You smell..." could I ask him these things.

"You will get used to that, I'm a Thrall." He looks at me. "You know about us right?"

"A little." I confess.

"Ask me anything, if I know it I will tell you. Basics, Thralls are human but we drink habitually from our master, which keeps us pretty and youthful and in return, we provide sustenance, aka blood."

"But I thought people were not.... compatible?" I ask.

"Mostly no, but you can get lucky and find ones that don't get sick from your blood. Turning and Thralls are different, a lecture for another time." He tells me. "If they agree, they can be made into Thralls. We got lucky and met Yo, the rest is history, really. We are now yours too."

"You are?"

"Of course we all belong with the same master." He smiles. "You don't need blood from us, but we do run errands. Ming never needs us, that handsome devil but Forth can when he comes to this side, he doesn't like humans that much."

"Why?"

Was he safe to stay around my brothers? He and Beam already seemed to be fighting.

"Something about his past but we don't pry." Monty sighs. "Believe me, we want to...but we have strict instructions from the young master."
